A few things to know.
1. the plan only lasts 360 days, not a year.
2. renew price $30 does not include tax and fee. the tax and fee is about $1 or $2 for me.
3. If you forget to renew it when time is up, you have about 60 days to keep your number. There is an reactive fee of $1 if you forgot to renew the plan. This $1 is not a tax, not a yearly fee. It costs you $1 if you totally forget to renew the plan after 30 days.
You may want to link a credit card on RedPocket account so you get auto renew.
When I know I will have friends / family fly into US, I mail this SIM card out. I tell them to put this SIM card into their unlocked phone and call me when their flight lands at an airport. It saves $$ and make everything simple.
it has been this price for at least 5 years i believe
I have this plan and use it to track my two young kids, put it in their backpack and use an old unlocked phone. Using life360 app can tell where they are at all times

Is there throttled data after the 200 MB? Seems like a good deal nonetheless.
Pretty sure it's a hard cap. I have the plan as a spare line but never verified it. The lower tier plans $60, and/or the $99 is the ceiling before soft caps are allowed.
*Spurred me to finally check my $99 plan line and it does hard cap. Checking $60, but presumably hard capped, too.
I've had this as my main plan for my only phone for several years and it's been very satisfactory. Obviously I have low usage needs. Occasional quick phone call now and then, and I'm usually where I can use wifi for data or I am very efficient with looking up something online.
Someone said they can't get group texts or MMS texts, but that's not been a problem for me.
I have had issues with service on days changing over from the end of month to the beginning of new month. I am on an annual prepaid plan. Otherwise works well.
Also, avoid autopay close to contract expiration when you can.
Don't worry too much, it's an old bug on their billing page of their website. It's been broken for years (at least 3)
They show they will renew next month, every month, but it actually only charges per year. Apparently if you call them they fix this, but I never bothered. Have two of these, they get charged once a year automatically for many years now, although the website is a bit alarming showing that next bill is due next month at $30.
I had the same issue with my phone. Support kept having me reset the network and apn settings but we could never get it to work properly. I needed the ability to send/receive pics and group chat and support was no help at all. I ended up cancelling the service and switching to mint mobile and had no issues after that. Waste of time and money dealing with RP, in my case. If you have no issues, they are very affordable. Good luck on solving your problem.
Forget support. They are so understaffed its better just to do some searches on support forums. As far as Media\Group messages, I am trying to remember how I fixed this. Some of the settings on the website were wrong, I basically deleted the access point and had it autoconfigure, I don't think all phones can do that and it takes a while. I deleted all APNS forced it to use a different network and then forced it back, It was definitely not as easy as say T-Mobile or Mint (same network)
You're. Think outside of your box. Some people have differenet needs, multiple lines, multiple carriers or rely 99% on wifi. If this deal doesn't apply to you, fine.

Bad link, leads to an e-Bay 404 error page.
