A few things to know.
1. the plan only lasts 360 days, not a year.
2. renew price $30 does not include tax and fee. the tax and fee is about $1 or $2 for me.
3. If you forget to renew it when time is up, you have about 60 days to keep your number. There is an reactive fee of $1 if you forgot to renew the plan. This $1 is not a tax, not a yearly fee. It costs you $1 if you totally forget to renew the plan after 30 days.
You may want to link a credit card on RedPocket account so you get auto renew.
When I know I will have friends / family fly into US, I mail this SIM card out. I tell them to put this SIM card into their unlocked phone and call me when their flight lands at an airport. It saves $$ and make everything simple.
it has been this price for at least 5 years i believe
I have this plan and use it to track my two young kids, put it in their backpack and use an old unlocked phone. Using life360 app can tell where they are at all times

What if I don't use all the minutes/data in one year? I'm currently paying $9 a month for US Mobile just to park my old phone number for those "just in case" moments where I have to verify identity on a website I forgot to change my number on. 🙃
Does all texts come through with Google Voice like the ones from id.me ?
I've used GV for my business for years. Most bank texts do not come through, but it depends on the site / business. YMMV. There have been many sites that will not allow you to use the number for 2FA/verification because it's VOIP.
Well... Mr or Mrs 'Pro," not thinking my too deep into this, going with some clues others left, my guess based on the few replies above you mentioning its been the same price for years... Would be, just that
I do the whole google voice thing but not all banks and other institutions happily accept voip for 2FA. Maybe I can grab something like this to primarily just be used for those situations - do they have esim?
I can't use the actual carrier sim because the banks and other institution ms take a while to verify the number - and some times I'm changing that out every 3 months.
I've had this plan for several years on an older Android, and MMS does work for me. Sometimes you have to turn on the data for them to go in/out though. With all texts, sometimes they are instant, sometimes they are delayed. But I don't get enough texts to be able to map out the patterns.
I have had issues with service on days changing over from the end of month to the beginning of new month. I am on an annual prepaid plan. Otherwise works well.
Also, avoid autopay close to contract expiration when you can.
thanks, finally got it working, partly my fault. Getting too old for these phone deals. Just realized my main phone was on mute all this time.. no wonder I've been missing calls.
Is Hot Spot included? I have an email case open and seems resolved. Just bringing it up since the DATA is SLOW! LTE is only 10Mbps down .23up
I have had this $30 plan for a few years and have been satisfied. Recently something happened to my voice mail so I cannot use it. RP support has been working on it for three days and still cannot fix it.
