A number of people covered many of the positives so I'll list some negatives and things people may not expect...
- There is friendly fire 100%. That includes your team, the turrets you may drop can insta-kill you, the little bots you can get to help you can kill you. There are a lot of frustrating deaths because of this. YOU don't make a mistake, the turret just turns to shoot something and shoots you. The bot helper "guard dog" also has what I consider a major flaw/bug where if it is aiming downhill it WILL sweep across you and kill you. It also includes when someone sits their 10 yo kid at the PC and they are dropping bombs on your or aggro'ing everything on the map.
- There are bugs, some major, that have been in the game since launch while the devs are about to release their third "premium" content add-on. Fire damage over time only works for the host. The automatons can shoot you and detect you through rocks, hills or mountains. Matchmaking fails or crashes the game at times. Certain weapons being used in multiplayer can crash everyone's game.
- There are conflicts with play style at higher levels. Some people are farming the materials for upgrades, so they want to run off solo and collect stuff. Others are done, or don't care, about the upgrades and want people to stay together to fight. Since barely anyone uses a mic, you are expected to just understand what they expect at times in randoms.
- The dev team seems to be a little lost on the idea of allowing solo play or not. This weeks they just upped the spawns and enemies by 50% for solo players. They describe this as a "fix" even though the game had been like it was since launch. This impacts even the "easy" missions. Basically it seems to increase difficulty by 2 tiers. Don't believe the Youtube videos of people playing tier 9 solo.... it requires constantly running from everything and even the most popular Youtuber that posts solo runs admitted most people will not find it a fun way to play.
- Lastly, it is repetitive. Be ready to kill the same enemies, on similar landscapes every single mission. There is no story, no background. Just go in, kill these things, evac.
Sorry for the rant, but the game has enough cheerleaders and a lot of people do like it enough to overlook some really glaring issues. Honestly, it should be in early access right now until they can decide on how to balance things and work out the laundry list of known issues. The devs are gearing up now based on the 750k+ launch numbers, while the player count this week has dropped to under 100k. Still great numbers, but every week is seeing 25-50k drop off.
275 hrs in and I'd advise waiting on this one. Launch was disasterous and it's still very buggy. The Devs stated that they are prioritizing monthly DLC launches over bug fixes. Every time they patch, bugs gets worse. Last patch introduced more crashing, sometimes at the end of the mission. 40 minutes wasted. We still have no fire or gas DoT since launch despite promises to fix it. Matchmaking cross-platform or with friends is still hit or miss. The Devs will dictate your play style by continuously nerfing favored weapons. Solo player? Forget it. They increased enemy spawn rates to overwhelm you. Great game, and over time it will get sorted but I'd wait a few months.
309 hours and I disagree wholeheartedly. The only period I would have said "wait till it gets better" was when you literally could not play due to the servers getting blasted past the player caps.
Even with the various bugs and a few game mechanics not working properly, it's been worth it at every stage since release. The gameplay experience itself makes it worth it (if you're into hoard shooter coop games and/or the starship troopers vibe).
Currently there was a rebalance patch and despite an overwhelming amount of buffs, the fact that a few OP weapons were nerfed seems to really sting those that are really dead set on one loadout and aren't big on experimenting with different builds. I guarantee as a new player, you're not going to think "wow I sure wish this is OP", nor are you even going to notice that the weapons that were nerfed even had any history behind it. There was the same backlash the first round of nerfs and despite the intense backlash, everyone forgot about it in a week because the complete weapon and stratagem is very expansive and almost every single option on the list is viable if thought is put into what you pick. I'd probably say only the minefields are still useless with the latest patch.
Not as good as with friends but better than launch now that the playerbase has shook out a bit. Game has full friendly fire so it's easy for someone to be a griefer. If I didn't have friends to play with I would probably use a discord server to find a group, that's usually much better than matchmaking.
Theoretically, the minimum specs are actually pretty low. 8gb ram, Intel Core i7-4790K, 1050 Ti, 100gb storage.
You could easily spec out a Intel Arc 310 system for: $30 ram, $95 i3-12100 cpu, $90 h610m mobo, $100 arc 310 gpu, $20 128gb storage, $36 case, $45 500w psu. I think that's everything. That's $416. I think some people used integrated graphics, so maybe you could roll the cost of the GPU into a better processor. You can use un-activated Windows for free. You could probably get 30 fps on low. It's not particularly powerful, though.
This is all assuming the arc gpu can even run it (Looks like Reddit people run it using 770 and the 310 is faster than 1050 ti). As another comment said, if you're able to spend $700, you'll get a WAYY faster system.
I would advise against building / buying a minimum spec PC for any live service game, as it will continue to get more demanding as updates and content are added. For example, My last PC was a gtx970 that could run apex legends at high settings at about 130 fps in 2019. By 2022, it could barely crack 60fps. This will happen with all live service games.
You probably already know if you're here but this game is really fun, especially with friends. It's also cross platform between PlayStation and PC.
A friend bought the game for me since I built him a PC. Not even two weeks later and we stopped playing it. It's fun at first but it's buggy and there's no campaign or other types of gameplay. It's just fight, go back to ship, fight, go back to ship. Nothing to really play towards and frustratingly buggy as is.
Allkeyshop.com is my favorite game key aggregator. Finds the best price across all the key sites. I've been using it for nearly a decade at this point.

I used to use them but swapped to gg.deals (if PC only). AKS is showing a lot of non pc results when I searched HD2, a listing for access go a Steam Account with HD2, and no listing for HD2 Super Citizen separately. On mobile, there's also a long list of filtering I have to scroll past to get to the results. I think gg.deals is better, you may need to change the settings on the site to display gray market sellers though as by default it may be disabled.
I'll say this, there's a noticeable gap between players that play difficulty 7+ and those that play below that. They're much more organized, communicate/ping well, and just have a better grasp of what to do and not to do; i.e. not shooting at every single enemy patrol.
Sounds counterintuitive, but I find difficulty 7 easier and much more enjoyable than 6. 8 and 9 are just chaos and there's no avoiding it.
Honestly the chaos can be fun too. I've got a 75 but the best way I can describe it is Rambo 4-6 but you have to play like it is a Metal Gear game.

It's a great game, even better with a solid group. Probably one of the best releases of the year.
