Last time I ordered a lot of these from Newegg, 2 of them came damaged and didn't work. Newegg said it wasn't their fault, to check with UPS. After investigating themselves, they determined they weren't at fault. Newegg wouldn't do anything. They were almost double the price of this at the time and I ordered 12. So basically, I lost over 1k after buying from Newegg. I haven't ordered from Newegg since.

Why would the scenario described not qualify for a refund/exchange during normal return period? Unless the drives were physically visibly damaged.

wth... Why not just exchange? thery didn't let you?

You could also try going through the manufacture warrenty worst case but thats still fked up on newegg side. They have contracts with the vendors and can easily send them back for credit usually.

story seems sketch. If a product arrives damaged it is up to Newegg to file the claim as the shipper and either way they are responsible for getting the product you paid for to you. If I got a response like that I would immediatly file a chargeback with my credit /debit card provider. Even just threatening a company with a chargeback usually gets results as if a company gets too many Visa will put a huge surcharge on that business for any future transactions. Personally I have returned many items to Newegg and only once had an issue. They were being a Nazi about some included warranty card or other piece of junk paperwork that wasnt included with my return but I found the missing paper and a 30 cent stamp later they had their piece of paper and accepted the return.

If you need more than one AAAWave has a 2 pack for $519 with free shipping and no tax https://www.aaawave.com/seagate-e...pack-of-2/ or one for $264.99 just a tad cheaper but AAAWave hasn't been charging me shipping or tax YMMV https://www.aaawave.com/seagate-e...000nm000j/
