Under Settings > Account > Google Voice number, make sure to 'Unlock'

Pin you have to create in your GV account settings by toggling on "Call to listen" under voicemail settings.

Based on info in this thread as well as info found on google, it is recommended to use google's address if you are porting a GV number and are asked for an address when providing port info for your 'old carrier':

Once activated, Text UNLOCK to 611611 (send it twice, it wont work first time) to confirm your unlock date. (approx. 60 days) The unlock is automatic and sent from apple servers. And it will unlock from anywhere in the world.

YMMV, you can activate your phone on tracfone.com with new number directly to bypass port in requirement and the cost is $10 But please be reminded, after you input the imei on tracfone.com, you prepaid balance for your total-by-verizon will be lost and your phone will be rebrand to tracfone and you can't activate it on total-by-verizon wihout rebranding it back to total-by-verizon

**Confirmed it doesn't work with a Verizon prepaid SIM card inserted 24 hours after activating the phone on Total VZ sim card.
Chase 15% Offer Details (YMMV / Targeted)
NOTE - this deal is YMMV / Targeted. I have several chase credit cards, but the offer only appears on 2 of the cards.
1) Log into chase.com account
2) Accounts tab -> (top left of screen)
3) On the right hand side of the screen you will see a "Chase offers" panel, click it
4) Top right corner there is a "choose account" drop down. If you have multiple chase cards, you will have to cycle through all of them and check the deals below that appear. not all of them will have the Verizon offer (hence YMMV)
5) If you see "Total by Verizon" deal then click on the "+" to add the offer to your card. NOTE - Remember which card you added it to (i.e the last 4 digits of the card)
When checking out on TotalByVerizon.com, use the Chase credit card that you added the offer to, to pay for the phone.
You will get an email notification a few days later, if successful (Subject "Congrats! You've successfully redeemed one of your Chase Offers")

I had an iPhone 11 up until 2023 and the main issue was that the chip would get crazy hot. Battery was also affected by that

But on the total site my account is still "inactive" and 611611 will not give and unlock date, just an error.
Is this normal? Should I wait it out, or do I need to contact CS

6/8 (Sat) - unblocked the GV number for $3 and activated phone
6/10 (Mon) - received email from Google informing that number was ported out
6/13 (Thurs) - phone successfully activated - you'll no longer see the "porting in process" message in your account
I did not have to contact Google or Total. I guess in some cases you just have to wait longer.

I got delivery of 2 and porting from spectrum to total but it won't activate.
Spectrum tells me port failed due to incorrect pin but total asked for account number and pin was never asked.
Tried calling total few times and they were r able to fix
* If you don't currently have a phone on TF, then activate Flip phone #1 with a new phone number. The bundled 1200/1200/1200 and 1-yr of service will be added to phone #1 at activation. Then activate Flip phone #2 WITH A TRANSFER from Flip phone #1. The phone number of phone #1 and its balances/days will be transferred to phone #2, then its own bundled 1200/1200/1200 and 1-yr will be added on top. If you're fine with using the flip phone, that's it. If you prefer to use another Bring Your Own Phone, buy a $1 BYOP TF SIM Kit and transfer service from phone #2 to the BYOP Phone.
