Hit up a local structural engineer. Most likely it's fine for a certain load like 10psf or so but need a local struct to look at it.
This is normal. You put bolts through the drywall and pinned metal to make a drywall sandwich between a metal rail and a wood joist. You also flexed the ceiling by a few millimeters by hanging weight from it. Things gonna move a little. Drywall is going to give somewhere.
Your house moves a little with season change and humidity. The drywall can't do that as easily anymore. You'll get hairline cracks in drywall. It's cosmetic. Putty and paint and it'll prob disappear for a few years or for forever

They may not require it, but you should do it anyway.
Returns don't give you free reign to trash the product and create more work than necessary.
My garage was weird with studs. Be ready for lots of measuring, marking, and stud finding, all while on a ladder and moving from point to point. But once that's done, install is relatively easy.
So, I think I spent about 8-10 hours installing these myself. It was a huge pain, but I installed mine over my garage doors. You have to make sure to measure, and remeasure, and better do it a third time.
The time consuming problem is the 27'' C-Channels that you mount between the joists. It takes a lot of patience and double measuring to make sure you get the correct offset from a wall for both ends, as well as lining up the 96.5 or 48.5 measurements to the other C-Channels. You can flub the 96.5 run a little bit since you can move the vertical posts laterally between the lag screws to compensate... but the 48.5 width needs to be pretty true. So getting one C-Channel is the easy part. Then it's meticulous measuring and making sure the rest are inline.
Get a great stud finder and even a jig/guide for drilling straight up into the ceiling. A slight angle could get ya broken bit as you think you're drilling straight vertical and apply a bit too much force. GUILTY. Then I got out the drill guide.

Where do I find and how much does a structural engineer charge?
