Here's a 47 minute video -- yes, 47 minutes -- showing you how to assemble this step by step. Looks pretty complicated. There are small rods that require a tweezer to manipulate. So if any of your clients have Parkinson's, tremors or vision issues, this may not work. I was buying it for an 11 yo who loves Legos but after watching it, I'm probably going to keep it for myself.
Was it hard to put together in getting for assisted living facilities
You do have to be careful. If you force it too hard the wood can break. I've had it happen to me a few times and was able to use wood glue to fix it. If I recall I don't think there are any spare parts on fragile pieces.
This video you can see it's a bit fragile and temperamental as would be expected. He also mentions approximately 4 hours assembly time and a video to help with that. https://youtu.be/U5-cc-r9zJ4?si=hS6iI7iRhSma1xyG

Thanks, spent a good day putting it together and the music box is pretty standard to swap out. Just had to move the plastic piece from one to another to accommodate for the gear but was pretty simple
bought for same set from temu for $30 and have to say this is a good deal. My 10 year old has been learning cello and had a good afternoon building it by herself.
Anyone have experience with how challenging this would be compared to say a 1000 piece Ravensburger puzzle? I know it's different... But I am looking to buy as a gift for someone who is a musician and also enjoys 1000 piece puzzles, and I don't have much experience myself.

For future reference I would say this is a good comparison. Time invested would be about the same.

Hmm... you might be able to speed-run this in 47 minutes, but you should reserve several hours or even multiple sittings if you're actually looking to enjoy the process.
This build provided me with 6 hours of fun. It's a well-designed kit. Everything is included, including hardware and tools. The cutouts snap out easily and fit together nicely. The parts are organized fairly well, and most are not difficult to locate (except for the transparent plastic shims hidden in plain sight). $20 for 6 high-quality hours? Why not?
