What do people use 1/4" drive for? Working on vehicles, I typically use 3/8" or 1/2" drives. The only time I use 1/4" drive is when nothing else will fit.

i use 1/4" for lots of things.less torque for more delicate items.and the smaller size fits in things like actuators under dashboards.

I'm sure 1/4" drive ratchets have their uses but I don't ever remember needing one (maybe if I ever need to work on actuators). Typically if I need a very small socket I use an adapter on a 3/8 ratchet and if space is an issue I just use an extension.

Building cabinets, bicycles, household use. The 1/4 is lighter on the wrist
