Thanks, grabbed one. Hear the CPS warranty is terrible, so a big gamble. Decent reviews for the unit new though except issues with rusting, so hopefully won't need it. Apparently Chase does a one year warranty on top of the manufacturer warranty if you use their credit card, so hopefully I have the early failure scenario covered.

Thinking about ordering this since I missed the home depot deal (for double, but it was new not refurb.) Reviews seem good, and it would be replacing a friedrich that is 13 years old.

Anyone have any other input?

Never buy from buydig, they are complete garbage. I bought this when it was 399 without the coupon. It came in with mold, apparently they never cleaned the moisture out and they packaged it away. The whole thing was moldy and I took pictures to show them and they refused it saying it is not in a condition they would take it back. Do not make the same mistake as me.

Area To Be Cooled (square feet) vs.Capacity Needed (BTUs per hour)
100 to 150 5,000
150 to 250 6,000
250 to 300 7,000
300 to 350 8,000
350 to 400 9,000
400 to 450 10,000
450 to 550 12,000
550 to 700 14,000
700 to 1,000 18,000
1,000 to 1,200 21,000
1,200 to 1,400 23,000
1,400 to 1,500 24,000
1,500 to 2,000 30,000
2,000 to 2,500 34,000

Don't oversize your unit; it may not cool effectively enough to remove the moisture/humidity in your space. I have two Midea units: 12,000 for a living room and 8,000 for a bedroom. They work better than the LG, Toshiba, and GE units we've had in the past. The inverter tech is amazing and efficient just be sure to size accordingly.

The one at walmart seems like a better deal warranty-wise.
https://www.walmart.com/ip/LG-22-...gJvu_D_BwE

Update: It's third party and walmart says to contact seller to verify warranty information.

What kind of circuit breaker is needed for this? 30Amp or what then if I need to run a new wire, the minimum would be what Gauge?
Walmart deal says $95 for installation. I assume that is only if one has the right plug (240V) and what if not?

The answers on the home depot Q&A for this unit from LG say 15 amps. Also this is 240V with a non-standard wall plug.

Thanks, after reading what you wrote I did a little more research and that seems to be the consensus is you don't wanna over do it these days with the units for the exact reason you said the inverters.

I've ordered 2 vacuums from buydig and both died within a few months. CPS did honor the warranty on both and I received checks in the mail for the purchase price minus sales tax.
