Sick of Samsung and their USB-C problems. At school, the Chromebooks endure so much abuse and the USB-C plugs, every time. Two different phones, serious issues plugging in. Just ridiculous. Samsung is overrated garbage.
Definitely will consider a Pixel. Not into the Apple scene.
Hmm, my trusted S10e can't connect well on USB-c so I mostly have been using wireless charging. Seems like a silly thing to do, I haven't had USB-c connector problems on any other device (well, I've seen Macbooks have godawful problems on USB-c for recognizing/triggering some actions but not sure if they're connector problems).
So, Samsung phones use bad USB-c connectors ?? It should be a $1 part (or maybe 10c ?)

I had the same problem on s9, s10 and s20. But in the s22 and s23 has been solved that issue.
I was wondering if I could pre-order the carrier version (Verizon) and get the phone for $399 and then cancel the service? Does anyone know if there would any other charge except the $35 activation fee? What's the process to cancel Verizon service? Best Buy showing me that the phone would be unlocked even though it's through Verizon.

Don't go to reddit/pixel imao, they complain all day man...
Never had a pixel but it seems great for productivity due to the features like call screen and stuff like that, it can read emails and all that, but they say the hardware isn't reliable and goes bad.
Wi-Fi issues, dim screen, and so forth, it seems good in theory and probably can benefit a lot of people get more productive but the hardware from what I'm told isn't the best.
And the Tensor sucks I've heard.
Like the stock experience and how clean it is but maybe one day i'll try it.
The price of this phone is only $50 less than the Google 8 which has way more capabilities.
Not according to Android Police.

All this for $500? It might be time to cross the Pixel 8 off your list
SUMMARY
- The Pixel 8a packs essential upgrades like a brighter display, faster processor, and a refreshed design, standing out for $500.
- With 7 years of OS updates, the Pixel 8a will last longer than any other midrange smartphone, rivaling pricier smartphones for performance and AI prowess.

Trade-in value is a joke. As a long-time android user, I'm considering switching to iPhone as Android today lost their pricing competitive edge over Apple.

The 8 has Gorilla Glass Victus which is newer and the 8a doesn't have it.
The 8a is Wi-fi 6E compatible. Pixel 8 is Wi-fi 7 compatible.
The camera on the 8a is the same sensor on the 7a. The Pixel 8 uses newer technology (laser detect autofocus... LDAF).

A series is supposed to be budget phone, not a $500 phone. Pixel 8 is superior hardware and camera wise , and for ai you can use gemini app on both.
I'm on my 4th pixel and other than the 5a mobo crapping out (a major problem), they've all been good.
Had no issues and like my new 8. TIV suck and I'd wait for better deals--no need to pre-order anything from them. I waited and was able to trade my 5a in a little after release and get more for it.

On paper, Samsung's offerings are better in terms of specs and battery life, but the user experience on a Pixel is absolutely the best you can get from Android. Google does seem to routinely have QA issues though. Pretty much every model winds up having some weird, show stopping flaw that affects some small percentage of the user base. The warranty support through the official Google store isn't the greatest -- if you need to do an RMA, they will either hold the full MSRP until they receive your old phone in the mail, or in some cases they'll let you send in your phone first and they'll ship you a replacement once they receive it --, so I'd recommend purchasing from Best Buy, especially if you have a store within driving distance.
