Speeds kinda suck. Already tried changing protocols/ports. Without the vpn 300 Mbps but when I turn windscribe on I get 40 Mbps lol.
But yea, you can torrent. I stopped getting those letters in the mail lol
Thanks for the response! My current VPN doesn't support it which is really the only reason I got it. But 40 still isn't too bad honestly for downloading a movie right? Right now without VPN I think I'm lucky if I can scrape together a good 1-2 MB on a popular download. So on a 1.2 GB movie 2MBps is would only be about 10 min if I'm mathing right? Very good chance I'm not lol.

You're right it's not too bad. Popular movies download fast still and it's not like I have to sit there and wait either lol.

Ouch I get between 500mbps and 950 mbps on proton VPN.
This doesn't make sense unless you are picking a really slow node. I just checked my speed on a couple nodes and getting 200+ mbps on one and 300+ mbps on the second one with Windscribe. Could be faster with other nodes, I didn't check them all. Not bad for the 83 cents a month I pay ($10/year).

Doesn't matter which country I pick if that's what you mean by "nodes". If I pick another country it's high 20's and anything in the US it's around 30-40 Mbps, mostly 30Mbps.
Who knows, maybe they're gimping the speeds for those who have lifetime subscriptions or have high traffic.
I paid $35.1 in 2016 for Lifetime pro subscription...and it's my 8th year
People was wondering whether this company was going to last more than 1 year, best $35 spent
Got the same deal. I'm nervous about the 10 year anniversary when THEY have re-up the plan.

Whatever it is you are getting screwed. 30-40 is not normal for windscribe.

The downvote you got is probably from the moronic "expert" who would tell everyone not to trust cheap VPNs. "It's the company's lifetime not your lifetime". For some reason those people didn't seem to get that even if the company lasted for one year, $35 was a great deal. And if you're doing some truly shady stuff none of these VPNs can be completely trusted to keep your data secure.
