I would like to point out and/or remind everyone that much of the DLC that was previously charged for was made free recently in February of this year for this game -

Good call. I will say that the Definitive Edition for $10 is also a great deal. I purchased this a while back and loved the Hellraid DLC that isn't part of the free DLC.
That said, $3 is still a fantastic deal and well worth what the game offers with the free DLC you linked.

F-in Hellraid. I was 30 minutes into my first play through of DL when I entered Hellraid by accident ("oh look interactive arcade machine!") and had no idea how to get out. By the time I realized what was happening and checked walkthroughs....that it wasn't actually the main game, I was near halfway through the DLC. At that point I just finished it. 4-1/2 hours into Dying Light and I had not even finished the prologue

This is a fantastic deal. There's stuff for people who like zombies, melee and parkour. Roof top running is fun as hell. The developers kept adding content and updating even after 2 was released. Gotta love developers who are passionate about their games.
Make sure to get it on Steam. Don't give any money to microsoft, they are following EA footsteps cutting studios left and right.

Like Valve is any better, taking about a third of the cut on every sale when all they do is providing software hosting and transaction management. These app store companies need to be regulated badly.

I like Dead Island 1 and Riptide. Can you play Dying Light by walking and without roof top running? Also can you take your time and explore every nook and cranny without getting killed by the zombies?

Creative ways to gain access to certain areas (through climbing) is often required. One of the DLC's is almost entirely roofs and what not. Other areas you can stick to the ground, mostly. For movement from point A to point B at least.
But if you are worried the entire game will be one big, annoying platforming fiasco...it isn't. I'm terrible at that stuff and this game manages it correctly. You pretty much latch on to every climbable object in the game. Pretty seamless. Same basic mechanics as Far Cry 3-5 yet much more of it, while handled better than Far Cry.

Yes, even on normal the game is pretty laid back. There is a story mode and I think you can change difficulty at any time. I hate games hard for the sake of just punishing the player and again DL was right up my alley.
Oh, and lots of stuff to explore. You could spend 100's of hours doing that stuff.

Valve does take a huge chunk from Dev's but is very customer friendly...unlike MS. I'm still salty about Microsoft shuttering their Games for Windows service (while opening a brand new replacement where the purchases didn't carry over...). Valve has yet to do anything so dishonest. They'll always get my $ over MS when it comes to games. Heck, every Valve purchase I have made since HL1 I can still download at the drop of a hat.
