I have found the old model to do quite well.
If you have animal hair, get a hair brush off Amz for loosening it up.
I don't trust their CFM airflow specs at all either, they list the M18 handheld at 40CFM and 45CFM for the M18 larger unit, and there's no way they are not even in the same zip code for suction power. The packout version is rated at 50 CFM, but it has no handle so it's not really handy.

It's all I have used for the last 3 years or so. I love the size. I hated lugging a big shop vac around my small garage
I had a friend burn one out this weekend and he's a Milwaukee dealer. He just warranties his out every 30 days for himself.
I own a lot of Milwaukee tools but this definitely isn't going to be one of them.
