You start thinking "An iPad would be nice" and you decide that an Air is probably worth the jump in price on the standards.. then you see last gen iPad Pros going for a bit more and that's worth the bump for the 120hz etc. But then if you want 256GB the new M4 ones are only $250 more.
So somehow you just talked yourself up from a $350 purchase up to $1000.

EDIT: I did the math wrong before. It's a $250 price difference as I consider jumping to M4.
But you will get 256GB storage, better screen and faster processor (can't really stress it with current software). The new camera position if you really care. about it It's a tempting upgrade for $250 more
You do need to buy all new accessories though.

I've been squeezing some decent life out of my iPads, starting with an iPad Air 2 around May of 2016 that lasted (it's actually still going pretty strong as the kids' watching/playing tablet) until I replaced it with an iPad Air 4 I think around September 2021.
I was really leaning towards the previous generation of the iPad Pro that's in this deal, but getting the latest chip is really tempting; it looks like the M4 blows the M2 out of the water.
When it was on sale for this price two weeks ago I was able to pick it up in store for the sale price.

I would say that the average person is going to notice a more significant difference due to the new OLED display in the M4 iPad Pro models.
