Wonder why they picked a 1350watt PSU, it's bit of an overkill, I would imagine a 800watt would be more than enough.

Wow, this is a great deal. I'm tempted to get this and sell my old computer.

Kinda crazy they used a 1350watt psu for a 4070 that is very efficient. I guess good future proof

For sure. You could power this thing with half that wattage.

A decent 600W PSU is more than enough. That choice is laughable.

Is there any negative to having the larger psu besides cost?

You'll be at the low end of the efficiency curve all the way up to and including peak power consumption with this combination. So a 600w PSU would be more efficient in the long run, but there is no other real negative to having this combination.

The PSU will only deliver as much power as is demanded from it, why would a larger PSU reduce efficiency?

Yes, it is one of the better deals recently for a solid desktop. Gonna be hard to find a RTX 4070 desktop at this price.

That power supply rating is what you'd get from a cheap chinese supply that's not really anywhere near that rating. It's probably rated according to a few second peak rating and not a constant amount it's able to deliver reliably.

I wonder what brand it is. It would be a miracle if that was a legit good brand with a proper rating at that price point.
