Strange question: would this be inappropriate for my Asian friend? She was browsing the bands at the store and loved this design and what it stood for, but a black woman came up to us and stated that it wouldn't be correct for non-blacks to wear it. At this price, I'd love to surprise her with it.

It's just black red green. Everything has to be loaded with controversy these days. Apple gets paid, no one else benefits from your purchase. People are getting too tribal.

I bought one a long time back. Probably worn it well over a year. It was rarely acknowledged, when it was the comments were positive. Just buy it if she likes it.
