I played the ever living piss out of RF2 in the PS1/2 days (not sure which) but I do not think this has aged well. Picked it up recently in a RF bundle and I could barely stand to play past the first half of the second level.
Note: I play a lot of old FPS games still. I do not mind an old or janky game nor am ever concerned with graphics looking modern. Some games just age like raw hamburger in the sun as opposed to wine stored properly
Armageddon on the other had just played through a few months ago and it was great fun. The destroy AND build mechanic is very unique to this game.
Admittedly, the 2 weaker entries in the franchise, but still classics.
(Both RF2 and RF:A have popular gameplay mechanics, slightly ahead of their time, too)

Honestly, no game has ever matched the destructibility of this game (still to today...maybe the Finals comes close)

You could do some crazy stuff. I remember making empty multiplayer matches and just sandboxing around with tunneling around for hours seeing if I could 'break' the game.
Red Faction: Guerrilla is pretty impressive too regarding the building physics but the world was pretty nailed down sadly. Armageddon was a lot of fun too, the whole destroy / rebuild mechanic was one of a kind. I do not think any other game has done something close...ever.
Armageddon caught so much flak when it was released for being a drastic departure from the series' gameplay. This is true, but if taken as a stand-alone experience, it is a lot of fun. It's basically a very actiony survival horror game (like a lot of early xbox 360 games) with the awesome destroy/rebuild mechanic added.
