Does it somehow take less quality pictures because it's a 6 year old design? how about you show a newer/better value option. You can capture amazing images with the cam and older, these cameras are so good these days (multiple manufactures) that it comes down to skill more that specs.

Second-hand, clean A7IVs are trading for ~$2000 used in very good condition. The updated color science + newer sensor is worth $500 in my view.

This would be slick at <$1000 in my opinion.

That's not the point. This body only has been down to around $1000-1200. This is not a good price.

The comment I was replying to indicated that they wouldn't get a camera that was 6 years old. Regardless of the deal, I'm saying a 6-year-old camera doesn't mean that there's no quality. I've been in the market for one of these and I agree that a grand is what I'd like to spoon. Or a used deal at a grand with included lenses.

I read that statement as "I wouldn't get a 6 year old body..at this price". Pretty sure that was what was implied. This is SD not a photography forum. Every deal is relative to its price. I would get a 20 year old body if it was new and $1.

I didn't read it that way.... Not trying to argue. Let's not pretend that the only thing ever discussed in these forums is cost vs money. I even agree that this isn't a great deal BUT if you're in the market and need it now this is close to what sites like MPB and Keh are selling used units for.

There's nothing I hate to see more in SD than the argument "if you need it now". So every deal on SD is based on the exact moment pricing only? That's just lazy and does nothing for this community.

Who actually needs a low to mid tier full frame "now"? Let's be realistic. If you do this for a profession, you are going to choose a better camera. If you are not, when do you absolutely need it now that you will over pay 35-50% higher? Enough with these first world problems. And people wonder why inflation is high. This is essentially regular price at this point for this camera. You really do seem to miss the "slick" in Slickdeals. And arguing about it is not going to help your cause. Learn to listen to people who have been doing this longer.
