This thing looks like Frankenstein made a desk. At first glance I expected the desk to fold away or something to justify the goody shape. Nope just an odd piece of furniture.
People lack common sense. I bought $50 metal desk from tribe and it had a bunch of reviews saying the holes don't line up etc. you can't tighten screws as you go when building things like this otherwise the some holes won't line up. Leave everything semi loose and once it's all put together you tighten everything.
I had some spin wheel pop-up window for an extra discount. I got $15 off $60. Had to add a filler to get it to take though.
Since you have put this together, would you mind a couple of questions? This could work for me if it was reversed.
Could it be put together so the shelf is on the left side of the desk? It doesn't look like it from the pictures, unless the shelf can be turned 180 degrees and the legs attached to either end of the shelf.
If so, what is the depth of the desk part itself? I see the 31.75"D and assume that is the shelf part, so I'm guessing about 20" for the desk?
Thanks!
The desk is attached to the back panel with 4 screws. The threads are imbedded in the back panel and they are not centered on that panel, so if you reversed it, the desk would sit higher and the end legs would have to be longer. That being said I suppose you could macgyver it and drill your own holes but not advisable.

Where did you get a $15 off coupon?
Try going to https://www.staples.com/deals/Sta...GDD0000001 in incognito for your web browser and look for a red button in the bottom left corner that says "Get up to $15 off". That will bring up the spin wheel. You might need to scroll the page a bit for it to show up.

If this fits your needs then I think $60 is a good price. But I see multiple reviews say that it is hard to assemble and there were problems with screw holes not aligned right. Also I wish they'd have better information on all the dimensions.
Here's a video directing you to an interactive app to build this. Looks complicated -- both the shelf and the app.
If the left and middle vertical boards were removed from the bookshelf it would be an interesting piece of furniture, because it would open up the shelves for the person sitting at the desk. As it is it's stressful just looking at it. poor design
If the left and middle vertical boards were removed from the bookshelf, there would either be no shelves or they'd require some impressive & creative cantilevering...
So yes, (either way) an interesting piece of furniture indeed.

Thanks for the hint it worked
If so, how much does the desk stick out from the bookcase? I wonder if one can work comfortably 🤔
