$50 each without a battery is kind of high. It's a good product, but still too expensive
It's $59 just for the regular fan and I believe I bought mine at $49 once during one of our infamous Louisiana hurricane season outages. So with a mister that can be used as a regular fan as well I consider this being worth it. The humidity here in the summer is horrible but it may only fit my needs and I respect your opinion.
Awesome fans and worth it. Two is a must as they have a pretty narrow throw. Maybe 4ft wide at 6-10 ft out depending on wind. So setting up two allow you to move around and still utilize it. They last for hours on a 4ah and use very little water(5gallons 4ish hours). Bonus they don't need water at all to work as just a fan. Only drawback to me is they're bulky.

This is evaporative cooling. Misting systems are used frequently to make outdoor patios more habitable. As the particles of water evaporate, the air temperatures are significantly reduced. The result is an average 20-degree difference without causing residual moisture. More altitude will help cool the air rather than have the water droplets evaporate on someone's skin. The cooler air has more density so it will settle. Try setting it up at eye level and aim upward at 45degrees : that's angle not temp ;-)
Yes, but these are nowhere near the high-end misting systems used at restaurants. Those have very high PSI to create a much finer mist. I have this fan and the droplets are too big for a true evaporative effect.

Does anyone have experience replacing the nozzles with finer mist versions? One of the reviews said it can be done, but curious what they come with and what is the "finer" replacement opening size?
I would bet that they come with .012″/.30mm nozzles. On Amazon, I've seen nozzles with orifice size as small as .004"/.10mm.

I placed an order for the fans and if it sprays too much water, I plan on trying 0.20mm nozzles.

I have a couple of these, and almost worth buying another pair. They are great, especially if you live somewhere (like Arizona) that is a dry hellscape.
And if you live somewhere with hard water, you'll eventually want to buy a bag of replacement mister nozzles on Amazon for when they inevitably clog.

Great product. My wife's softball team calls me "Fancy Mister" now because of this and the boys love it when I bring it to a baseball game. Makes those hot games so much better.

I fill it up outside so it is already cold. But then drop a few freezer packs in the bucket too.

Get a gamma lid to transport with no spills.

First I've heard of those lids but that sounds perfect for this application. Does the fan sit well on the ring?

Yes, the smaller nozzle aperture, the more efficient the result..
Curious: How high do you mount your fan and what is the angle of of attack?

Anyone actually have and use these with the mist function? Reviews sound like it has the usual fluid clog issue, we have hard water and I'm guessing these will be calcified in a week.

I bought a pair and will purchase some extra nozzles from Amazon. I wonder is a soak in some CLR will clean the nozzles. If so, I'll swap the clogged nozzles out when needed. It might work.

I've used it for summer BBQ's last year and 2-3 times before covid. So I've owned it as far back as 4-5 years ago. I always fill the bucket with the backyard water hose. So far, it's still kicking. No signs of clogging or it not working.

I'm torn between this and the 2 normal non misting fan deal.

I was thinking it'd be nice to have the mister for when my kids(2/4) play outside on the deck on hot days. Or if it's practical to even bring this to the beach or picnics on hot days.

Part of me thinks the mister is more of a gimmick than being useful. Anyone have both and could help me decide?

Also does anyone have the 18v clamp fan? Thinking about getting this for the wagon or using it on the beach for hot days as it's smaller and more mobile than either normal fan or mister fan.

Any way to convert a regular fan to a misting one?

The misting is not a gimmick at all and works great to cool you down on hot days.
