The internals are good for the price, but the problem is the low brightness screen and MASSIVE 6.2lb weight for a 15.6" laptop, laptops in this weight class tend would usually have top of the line GPUs and CPUs and be desktop replacements and this isnt that.

This is 300 nits which is brighter than every other gaming laptop in this price range which is usually 250 nits. I have an ASUS proart monitor that's a little over 300 nits and I rarely exceed 80% brightness so this will be a huge upgrade over everything else in this category

In all honesty 300 NITS is not very bright. Purchased two gaming Acer Predator Heilos Neo's here on Slickdeals and both had screens with 500 NITS. They are super bright!. For myself I find it hard to get excited over 300 NITS.

how much did you paid for the predator? I don't think $809
This is a good deal. I didn't have the Amex offers but I ended up getting another extra 10% off from R@kuten, as well as dell points ($20 off) so the price was ~$690
It also shows as 2x 8gb instead of 1x 16gb for RAM. That's kind of a big deal too right? Because now if you upgrade the RAM you can't just add one stick to an empty slot
