Regarding the widely reported issues with Pixel 7 users receiving delayed texts (up to 20 minutes), duplicate texts and calls going straight to voicemail without the phone ringing, I started having those issues with my Pixel 7 Pro about 6 months ago. I thought is was a Tmobile issue so I switched to Visible by Verizon. Same damn problem! Buyer beware.
I am generally a pixel fan. Great camera, bloat-free, frequent timely software updates.

But the latest generations with the tensor chips have absolute trash modems. Terrible 5g connection issues. I switched to a moto edge plus 2023 from a pixel 7 and it is better in every way except the camera.
Pixel 8 (non pro) was $399 not too long ago, so this is a bit high especially without the 7 year update guarantee.

Resale value will be much higher if it still gets updates. I keep my phones for at least 3 years. That's the real slick deal.

No bro just keep it 7 years like the other guy. Huge selling point 😂

How is this compared to Samsung s23+?

edit: I am asking since I am undecided after extensive research. 7 pro has better camera and worse chipset. Except for these, pretty much all other major things look the same. Also, except over here on sd, I do not see anyone complaining about connectivity issues (not being able to receive calls, delay in receiving sms etc) with 7 pro

As far as I can tell there has not been a reason to ever pick a Pixel over a Samsung simply because of QA. Something is always severely broken every year

Google didn't even produce a 1 TB version of this phone.

Anyone have one of these? How do you like the curved screen?

Have had one since they came out. I understand the appeal for a curved screen, but I have gone through more screen protectors on the curve than any other pixel I had before.

I really like the curved screen. Makes the phone a little easier to handle. The Whitestone Dome protector fits it perfect. I've had it on for several months and no issues.

Been using a pixel 6a since release. No issues with this tensor phone. my mother also has one. no issues with hers either.

Full disclosure, I only clicked on this SD page to warn people away from Pixels. Between myself and a friend, we have owned five Pixel phones (6, 7, 8) - all of them are gone now because all of them had so many hardware problems. For myself, I never had the specific issue of not receiving calls or texts, except when the phone would just crash (sometimes it would stay off until I figured out that it was off and rebooted). But with terrible app stability, phone stability, poor brightness, constant fingerprint scan issues, overheating... I did not have 7 pro, but I see many of the same problems on various forums. Clearly Google has not worked out the kinks w/ their branded hardware.
I just moved back to OnePlus, really enjoying my 12R but it won't win the camera battle.

There is zero chance a current Pixel lasts seven years so that guarantee is pointless. Pixel 1-3 maybe, but not the newer ones.

While I agree few people will use their phones for 7 years, it does make it an attractive phone to buy in a few years for those that don't need the newest model. That, or a great backup phone.

Anyone who's seeing this, stay away. I have had the p7pro since launch basically. I've had to replace it 3 times due to weird screen issues. Idk if it's because I play games on my phone (pokemon go) so the heat wears the hardware down over time. But each time I had to replace it, I had a weird green glow around the edge of the screen and eventually the screen stopped working. Unless you do basically nothing with your phone, it's not worth the headache if you run into this issue. I can't wait to move on from this phone because idk when the screen issue will happen again with the current replacement. If I could afford an upgrade right now, I'd do it.

In for another one. My wife and I both are converted to Pixel from Apple devices, and we have been using Pixel 2 XL, 3 XL, 4 XL, 6 Pro, 7 Pro. There are some software bugs here and there but with updates, normally they get fixed. We haven't had any issue with hardwares so far.

As much as I have loved Pixels since it was originally Nexus (5 was the perfect phone and as shitty as the 6P was, the speaker location was wonderful), the somehow constant hardware failure is pushing me towards Apple.

Had the original Pixel; motherboard issues until it just stopped working. Pixel 3XL; similar issues up until it just slowed to a crawl and the battery was junk. Pixel 5a 5G; waiting for it to brick as already having random hang ups, reboots, etc and I've had to turn off the 5G due to it being worthless.

Now that Pixel has the Tensor chip in the last three gens while still somehow having motherboard issues, what's even the point in staying with them?
