$120/mo for service and $349 for hardware.
Unless you don't have an internet provider in your area, what's the benefit?

I only get that price if I try to buy it for a residential address. The roam option is still 599. If you buy the residential, is it still portable, like if you go camping?

TL;DR - The hardware is identical between the two - buy the residential and call and switch to roam!

My understanding is that you can buy it under the residential plan and can switch to roam by contacting support (the price would increase from $120 to $150). If you are buying a roam plan initially though you have to buy the hardware at full price ($599). The hardware for Roam and Residential is IDENTICAL. I checked this back when they had refurbished starlinks for $399 in some areas (but only for residential, not roam).

Yeah if you have a solid internet provider you're typically better off with a good local fiber company. We have a solid fiber company (and it's cheap, $60-70 for 1GB up and down), but we still want the Starlink is a failover/backup and for summer traveling. You can cancel anytime so you will only use for the months you want to, but you do have to pay for a full month all together.

5G cellular has taken a bite out of Starlink's customer count. Certainly not everywhere but the 5G network has really helped some. Always a ymmv.

Look for nearby store listings that state Limited Stock: Visit XX store for availability". Those are the very select few that appear to have them discounted. All others have full price of $599 (same as Best Buy, Target, and online at Starlink).

Doesn't appear any stores carry it in stock, you can try and order in store for pickup (doesn't work online for store pickup since it says to visit store for availability) or best option is to use free delivery to a zip code WITHIN that store's area. If you find a store that has it on sale and try to deliver to a zip code outside of that area, price goes back to $599.

If you have a clear view of the sky, then yes. If under trees or other obstructions, then no.
