So I'll be the first hater post I guess, defined evidently as someone who doesn't worship and fawn over this game.
For me the game's writing was okay, but by the end the storylines had me disliking the characters so much I didn't care which died, none were likeable or deserved any sympathy. I just wanted the game to end, and sometimes it seemed it just would never do that. The game had elements that were unnecessarily gruesome and violent. I don't regret playing it, I just didn't like it as much as others.

So I'll be the first hater post I guess, defined evidently as someone who doesn't worship and fawn over this game.
For me the game's writing was okay, but by the end the storylines had me disliking the characters so much I didn't care which died, none were likeable or deserved any sympathy. I just wanted the game to end, and sometimes it seemed it just would never do that. The game had elements that were unnecessarily gruesome and violent. I don't regret playing it, I just didn't like it as much as others.
You can easily go back and look at the other threads.
You also know that it was mostly haters in the comment section because the positive comments received the most dislikes while the negative comments received the most likes.
I still don't get how this isn't a PS+ game after all these years but at $10 I'll bite

It still has a shockingly active hate sub on reddit. IDK how much I really expect to see it on slickdeals... but were talking about it, aren't we? Won't see that with other games. It was clearly swept up in a gamergate type of situation where it became a focal point for certain folks and their culture wars. Given the review bombing it received due to the leaked script alone, I don't think its subtle what some of the primary drivers were.
