Solid deal but OOS for me. You can get the M2 mini from Apple student store for $500 without any student verification required.

These consume so little power at idle (not to mention being very efficient under load) which make them very useful for running background tasks 24/7.

Very enticing price. But then do i really need it ? Probably not, was thinking use this as a Content cache server(it great for household with many apple devices), And maybe media stream.

Potentially, you can get a latest version of Mac mini from apple.com with education price & back-to-school promotion for around $399. ($599 - $100) and maybe $100 gift card or apple EarPods ?
You have to _really_ value fast app installs to justify having a content cache server on a new device. I have a Studio doing that, but that's because I keep it always on and it's just there. I suggest having an already-existing Mac (attached via ethernet) for this role, as anything nowadays can easily do that and far more.

And yes, $399 (assuming Apple coupon is worth cash to you) is the expected going rate. Here's hoping by some magic that the M4 Mini arrives by then. Smilie. (ha...)

Yea, the bigger question is when they will announce the m4 Mac mini.
Hope they will do it during upcoming WWDC, but the hope is not high.
If not announce by then, it most likely announce around Q4 which usually means back-to-school promo usually already over.

Apple has the best technical support in the business. It's not just me saying so; Consumer Reports puts them on top every...single....year, in every single review.

Yes, it's even better if you live near a store, for trivial handoffs and carry-ins, but their remote and mail-in support is also outstanding.
lol. they didn't want to touch my work's I-Phone unless I took it to their store.

Back in the day, I had one of their routers -- Air Port Extreme. And it had an issue. They flat out wouldn't even warranty it since, and I paraphrase, "The warranty of the Air Port is tied to you Mac laptop." But I don't have a MAC. "Then you don't have a warranty for the Air Port."

So, maybe if you drink their Kool Aid and are a card carrying member of their over-priced hardware club, they treat you well. The rest of us who only nibble on fruit, we get the rotten pieces.

https://www.apple.com/support/pro...protection.

That's Apple's warranty for iPhones. Mail in and replacement ahead of time are both offered. Maybe you got a one-off and someone lied to you about support, but it took me about 30 seconds to google this, so it should have been trivial to escalate this and get support.

https://support.apple.com/en-la/a...ccessories.

That's Apple warranty for the Airport. That, too, took about 30 seconds to google. It clearly states one year warranty.

Not sure why you had problems, but it doesn't change the fact that the facts (of Apple's support) are readily available online, and the fact that Consumer Reports shows they're head and shoulders above everyone else.

Taken together this implies to me either you can't communicate effectively to Apple, you can't google to understand your warranty (or you can't read your warranty from the packaging), or you're misstating the details to us here.

Should we just go with the m2 over m1? Is saving $120 worth the difference?
Isn't the m3 out soon, not sure.

Just picked it up from a Microcenter and set up the machine. It was sealed in the original Apple box and looked brand new when opened, but for some reason the warranty date was set to expire in November. I had to call Apple and speak to two advisors before they fixed the purchase and the warranty date for me.

Some Micro Center locations actually have it listed under a different SKU for only $349.99. I picked one up at the Dallas store and it was a brand new/sealed in the box unit with the system specs sticker on the back of the box in both Spanish and English.

1 available in Fairfax. You can hold it, but checking out online. I find that more stock is available in Rockville. Don't know which state you are in though, WV or NC.
Looks like they're out in both Rockville and Vienna.

Only place I see that has them is IND.

They still had six when I got mine, but yeah, they've since sold out.
