bro i'm just tired of ppl blindingly echoing "iT's GoOd EnOuGh fOr 99.99% oF uSeRs" in 2024... 64GB of storage. i dunno if it's boomer mentality or what. it's so annoying.

it's like saying "720p resolution is BEAST MODE on my apple products !"

it's like being okay with a TN 720p display with 30fps. like ya.... it's "usable" .. but it's 2024 man... i duno. (my point being that these specs are grossly out of date. 64GB of storage is grossly out of date)

i dunno.. if you can't see that.. then i duno.

my bad. i get heated when ppl are getting ripped off and can't see it.
Feelings won't do anything here.

Buy if liked. if not, carry on. Simple.

I'm not here to have a conversation with users who don't want to contribute to the thread

Go do something else "bro". 64GB is enough because some people just use tablets to watch shows and do light browsing. These days a lot of media is streamed or on the cloud so some people don't need on device storage.

If you think it's too expensive for 64GB, you're right. Everybody knows Apple is ripping people off on storage upgrades. But I don't care about it so this tablet fits my needs just like it does for other people buying it.

You'd think that, but with my parents and their extended family out of the country group chats sharing photos and videos of birthdays, weddings, babies, holidays, etc it starts adding up.
Yep. When I saw that comment about 64 and thought about my non tech family members who have to offload regularly. 256 would be too much and 64 is too little.

Which is perfect for 90% of the users. No difference than the 9th gen iPad variant
uhh... 90% is a stretch in 2024 mate. 1 video file alone can be multiple gigs. installed apps, not including how bulky iOS is as an OS. 128GB is the point that is good for 90% of users (since we are just making up statistics, mine is probably a better one)

There is a reason iPhone/ipad storage is overpriced. It's part of Apple's marketing strategy to force people into paying for iCloud storage. I mean it is what it is and it's not ideal. The simple fact that there is no simple way to copy/export all photos and documents from iCloud to an external storage device without using a PC or Mac is a prime example. All Apple would have to do is include a "select all" option in the library or whatever, but there is none… so for those of us who have massive photo libraries (mine is 21,000 pics, screenshots, and memes), it is very frustrating to actually back up that data without using a PC or Mac. I have an external USBC ssd connected to my iPad. It works fine and is super fast, but there's no practical way to bulk transfer all this stuff from my iPad or iCloud to it without first connecting to a Mac or PC. I dont have a Mac and have several PCs, but for reasons I dont want to get into here, its just not very convenient for me to have to use one of the PCs to get this done… sigh.

When will this become obsolete when the iOS changes?

Can I use an Apple Pencil with it?

I've never owned an iPad so don't go ballistic.

"Bros" need not reply.
Cannot say for sure how long it will be supported for iOS updates - however it is notable that the Air 5 does have 8GB of RAM, whereas the prior gen 4 only had 4GB of RAM, and gen 3 only had 3GB, and gen 3 hit the market 5 years ago in 2019. So that one got 5 years of updates at least.. cant imagine the Air 5 getting less than that. It's a 2022 model, so should be supported until 2027 at least - but possibly longer because of the 8GB of RAM. Several current gen ipads also have the 8GB ram, and I dont think you get more until you hit the top tier pro models with at least 1TB of storage….. so at least 3 more years of updates, I believe. But dont take my word for it! That's just like - my opinion, man.

And yes, you can use Apple Pencil. I'm using the 2nd gen pencil.

64GB for an entry level iPad should be a crime. Throw the book at Tim Cook.

Seeing so many 64GB iPad on clearance make me think they all probably will have problem running newer versions of IOS soon. I don't think I would like to have to clear up storage like every week.

Why are you so frustrated and fixated on this? If it works for you, it works for you. If not, find something that works for you.
