Not so long ago, Walmart switched its delivery company from FedEx to a no-name company. Unfortunately I was not aware of that until it was too late as I never had any issue with physical gift cards delivered by FedEx nor had anything stolen from my door (I work from home).
Last week, I ordered a physical gift card from walmart.com. This new delivery company stole my gift card from the envelope in Tennessee during a 3-hour stop shown on the tracking information. When the empty envelope was delivered to my door in Texas, I immediately reported the stolen card to walmart.com. I was promised to receive the replacement card but nothing was sent after 3 days. When I called again, I learned that Walmart did not deactivate the gift card I reported stolen and still let the thief use it at a store in Tennessee 3 hours after I reported it stolen. Now they have refused to send replacement card claiming that the card has been used after delivery. I have made 5 calls to walmart.com including their managers and their gift card department, they still refused to replace the stolen gift card.
This appears to be an inside job and an organized crime most likely involving walmart.com and delivery company as a team because the thief knew to use the gift card only after the status was marked as delivered and walmart.com purposely did not deactivate the gift card after I reported it as stolen. I am trying very hard to fight this organized crime as one person against the entire organization. Any suggestion and help would be greatly appreciated.
Please do not order anything from walmart.com.

I've been buying this every time it posts, the balance checker has never been a problem until now for me either.
Nonetheless, I've also not had any problems in the past and this current promo in using the GCs, all the transactions go through.
Like you, I had not had any issue with giftcards.com until last month when my registration for all cards were not saved and I got denied when trying to save the cards to my Paypal account. Then I noticed the transaction history stopped showing the merchant names and description. When Paypal needs verification by requiring me to enter the 4-digit code included in the purchase description, it does not show in the transaction history, I ended up spending an hour trouble-shooting, talking to support, registering each card by phone and asking the support to read the 4-digit Paypal code for each card for me. Now I cannot check the balance anymore. In addition, I will have to stop using them to buy physical Walmart gift cards because Walmart's new shipping partner OnTrac stole my gift card from the package in another state before delivering the empty envelope at my door. And Walmart refused to replace the stolen gift card or investigate the incident. All the signs have told me to stop buying them now.
Incidentally, the balance check works on the automated phone line, but the phone tree is infuriating.

They decline. When they do, good luck getting any customer service.
Their 800 number 877-944-3822 is a joke. I press 2 on the automated system and it registers as 5.
It's impossible to get hold of someone as I need to press * and it recognizes my input as something else.
Saving a dollar is not worth the hassle. Your $96.95 will be stuck and you can't do anything about it.
Incidentally, the balance check works on the automated phone line, but the phone tree is infuriating.
