You're still wrong. I have a V4 and can review footage from the SD card.
Click "SD Card" and you can select what time you want to see.

Works better than it did in the past. Not sure if thats a software update or the newer camera.

I like the new v4. Each version has slightly different things about it. The v4 has twice the resolution, which means the feed looks better than the v3, but you won't be reading license plates at distance. The v4 has good color, meaning pretty true, slightly warmer than the v3. The v4 does not have the near infrared led option like the v3 has, so it has 4 dim red LEDs when seen at night. The v4 has a smart zoom feature that can be toggled. If there's motion within it's view, it automatically zooms in on it and follows it (pretty well, not real smooth though). It leaves a little picture in picture when this is activated, to show where in the field of view you're zoomed in on. I think the v4 loads about the same speed as the v3. So the OG cam still has has it beat as the fastest to pull up live view. But the OG is pretty quirky in my experience. Color balance is just a little weird, I get double notifications a lot if the subscription is activated for it, and I don't care for the vertical sd card scrolling. The v4 has the vertical scrolling, too. I can't compare the v3 on this because I currently don't have an SD card in the v3. I just recently set it back up to view my fish, lol.

The v4 is unreliable.
Check out Reddit for people's experiences.
Over the past few days, my camera has been offline - regardless of several power cycles for troubleshooting.
I'm glad I just use it to check in on my dog when I'm at work - I'd be annoyed if it was for anything important.
My Doorbell v2, floodlight pro, and v3s are working just fine.

So do you have this instead of a ring door cam?
Yeah, I have a no soliciting sign on the door, and no doorbell. 😆

https://www.pinterest.com/pin/207...579842097/

Well, I still have the original door bell button but the chime was removed long ago.

If they can't read then they can push the button all they want or try knocking.

My Wyze cam (v2) is above the door and I have one of those USB light bulb adapters. The lights are always on because they are smart bulbs. Then I had to invest in those light switch covers to keep someone from flicking the switches off inside.

Maybe I should have just bought the doorbell camera? 🤣

Thanks OP!

I don't really need this, but I currently have a few V2's and V3's around my house for security purposes. V3 is head and shoulders above the V2, but I still would like higher resolution on my V3 for viewing vehicles driving by or pulling in and V3 is almost there but not quite. For 26 bucks it's worth it to try it out and I'm a tech guy so it's fun to mess around with these things. Same day delivery too... pretty gratifying.

Are the Wyze v4's compatible with Cam Plus Lite? I'm grandfathered into that older plan and thus far have been able to resist paying their hosting fees.
Sorry nope. It still works with v3, not v4

I'd like to know this as well. Awhile back I tried (via some instructions on how to run Wyze on Windows) to install an Android emulator on PC and then tried to install an APK of the Wyze software on PC. I got errors and it never worked.

Without a subscription, are you able to get videos off the SD card via your PC (e.g. connect to network device and copy mp4 files over)? Or do you have to physically remove the SD card/plug into PC to view them?
Wyze is not the ecosystem for you if that's what you want to do. Wyze has definitely picked the enshittification route like most tech companies with the push to Cam+. You can still putz around with Docker Wyze Bridge still which will let you stream directly from your camera and then pair that with Scrypted to have your own recordings seperate from wyze. You used to be able to access your SD card through this, but this is no longer the case. One thing you can do is save the SD Card recordings through the app on your phone and then push to your PC from your phone

I bought the v4 to replace a working v3 that was looking at my driveway. I am returning the v4 since the image is way worse than the v3.

Does anyone have or had the v2 Cam? I had two of them since 2020, and one died about a year ago, and the 2nd one just died last month. When it stopped working, the it was making some kind of grinding noise, and the app doesn't recognize the Cam. Does Wyze have some kind of warranty on these v2 Cams for free replacement, or are they just trash now?

I still have 3 v3 Cams, and looking to get more. Does the v4 Cam integrate with the Cam Plus Lite that I'm enrolled in?

Use a different power brick, they'll come back to life.

No cam plus lite, no cameras have been able to do cam plus lite since like 2021

You just view from android/apple. While viewing SD card playback, hit the start clip and then when you go the recording you want to save off, click stop. Downloads the video to your phone.

Im looking for a camera that I can use for live feed monitoring of my 3D printer.
Would this be a good camera for that?
Is there a desktop pc webpage I can view from or just on my phone?

Does anyone know the issue with continuous recording and playback? I have a few V2 and V3 cams. I do not have any playback issues on the V2s but 3 of my V3s stop recoding when the SD cards get full. So when I want to playback, it says "No video at the selected time."

It drives me crazy because it does not have it when I need to check important footage! I have to format the SD cards and they start recording and playback is available until the SD gets full.

What is the issue? Are the SD cards causing the problem?

I just bought one at this price, it's being delivered tonight. I have the v3 and the audio is complete garbage on it. It just sounds like white static noise and muffled people talking. I'll post back here to see if the v4 improves on it, because the issue doesn't exist on the v2 according to Wyze forum posts.

you can view the live feed on the desktop (their portal) but it requires a paid subscription.

Wyze is a terrible company with mediocre products. As someone with years of experience in their ecosystem, I'd suggest new users to stay clear. Ecosystems like TP-Link's Tapo line and Anker's Eufy brand are in the same budget niche, but they are much better maintained.
This.

100 times, this.

Be aware that the SD Card is put inside the camera: If they steal the camera you lost your footage.

You seem to know your wyze cams pretty well. Do you have experience with their outdoor cams?
I have two of their outdoor cams (a v1 and a v2) and the base station. I tried putting sims in the base station and in the cameras themselves, but for the life of me I cannot figure out a way to get them to record. Even just events don't get recorded. I get a notification that there has been an event and when I go to check, on the V1 cam I get a 7s clip, and on the V2 I just get a photo from the event, but no video. I've tried looking through every conceivable option I can find. Am I just still missing it or am I SOL if I don't pay for the services?
FWIW I have the indoor cams and they work just fine recording to SD.
Atomic2, have you tried formatting the SD cards after installing them? Tried removing them and also a complete reset? I think there's a reset option but I'm not sure now. Also, you tried customer service? Those might be obvious things but I know I get tunnel vision when I'm frustrated.

Wish I could be more help, but the only cameras I have used are v4, v3, pan v3, OG, battery cam pro, and floodlight v1. Never used one that requires a base station.
