There are an insane amount of variables at play in your loaded question and I'm assuming you know that and are just trying to belittle the spec because you don't personally see the point.

Not much of a risk here. Having the best 3 year warrant which includes burn in. I bought the g8 34" oled didnt do much research but i love it. Warranty sucks but monitor is just a great looking one. If i had to do it all over again i would get this one instead of the g8 just for the excellent warranty and lower price while using the same panel.
Just want to chime in on the Dell "excellent warranty." My AW3423DWF failed with strange power issues in less than 6 months. Dell shipped me a refurbished monitor in the most flimsy box possible and insufficient packing materials, so it arrived completely smashed. Dell refused to let me send it back because they wanted to file a claim even though it was packed completely inappropriately by them and I spent 4 weeks arguing with them about just refunding my money since they couldn't actually fulfill their warranty obligations. It was a lot of fun staring at their shattered monitor for a month and having a bad back-up monitor for productivity and gaming.

Hopefully you guys don't need the warranty, because it's actually quite garbage in reality. Never Dell!

My AW3423DW from April 2022 is still perfect, was $1299.99 at the time. It does have the G-Sync module, but great deal for this FreeSync version.

Waiting for a certain cashback site to offer 15% again. Combined with an additional 5% cashback from my credit card would make for a pretty good deal.

Seems like a good price, but I've been watching it fluctuate between $700 and $900 for over a year now. With new monitors coming out from LG and Samsung (and Dell) I'm surprised this hasn't dropped into the $600 range. That's what I've been waiting for to pull the trigger.
It's still the best at this size and aspect ratio. The newer WOLED panels at this size and aspect ratio only offer higher refresh rate over it. everything else is a sidegrade at best.

How important is it to get G-Sync vs Freesync? I have an Nvidia GPU and I'm afraid to pull the trigger. I currently have G-Sync off on my settings with my current monitor. Will I want G-Sync on with this monitor? Will I want to consider using G-sync in the future? I'm hesitant.
There is absolutely no reason to have g sync turned off

Coil whine is an incredibly common problem with this monitor unfortunately. Great monitor otherwise

I got this monitor Friday (Best Buy price matched dell with the coupon code) and it's great. I'm not new to OLED, so I knew going on burn in risk. I may return it, mostly because it's text issues are sometimes hard to ignore, and I've had 3 other 34'' ultrawides, so I want something different/bigger.

I really like 38/39'' size, but the 39 LG curve is just too aggressive at 800r.

I paid over $1,000 for this monitor in March of 2023 and I would do it again. It simply looks amazing. Just take the precautions for proper OLED care and you will be fine.

The good:
I have this monitor and absolutely love it. No flashlighting, viewing angle issues, color/black uniformity is a thing of the past. Nicely configured white balance and inky blacks. In HDR mode, things can get pretty bright in the windows environment, but you can adjust this. HDR windows games look breathtaking and I've managed to inject it into other game like Starfield and Subnautica. You can use reshade to add HDR to some games. (SInce I'm still on windows 10, so no auto-hdr through windows) I haven't had issues with coil or fan noise since updating the firmware.

The bad:
The first unit I got had issues with on-screen menus cycling or getting stuck without touching the controls. Thankfully I got it on a deal from Best Buy and they let me swap it for a fresh new one. God knows what I'd have had to go through if I dealt with Dell. I turned off the automatic pixel refresh because I didn't want to keep using the joystick under the monitor for fear of breaking it. I just put my PC to sleep every few hours, as that sets off the auto-refresh before the monitor goes to sleep. I also use an app to make the start menu sliver FULLY disappear, the one that stays even if you set the bar to auto-hide.

The 1000 nit profile has a downright obnoxious ABL that darkens the screen agressively if the light level gets too high. (Don't even try using it on the windows desktop) Bright daylight in games like the Avatar game get downright gray. I prefer the 400 nit true black profile. I set max nits to about 500 in games and the ABL is practically unnoticable.

It's still the best monitor I've ever had.

I went to microcenter last November and like more of the aw3821dw monitor. Bought 2, never regreted. Unfortunately, they stopped making them.

Been using this monitor for 1.5 years, no burn in issues as I make sure to do the pixel refresh thing whenever it pops up. Slightly annoying when it pops up though, but you have the choice to do it during standby mode. Great monitor I use daily for gaming and everything in between!

FYI ordered a couple for $450 (and they all shipped...wanted to make sure I get them before posting here lol). Here is how you do it:
-Select an Alienware computer that won't ship for like 2 weeks and add up to two monitors (more than that and u wont get full discounts.
Add promo code MONITORS10.
-Order and wait until you get the "Order Confirmation" email (that comes after the "Order Received" email).
-Cancel the Alienware computer order online.
Voilà!

Two questions.. If you cancel the PC order doesn't that cancel the monitors as well? If not, won't they just charge your method of payment later?
