that is because adorama is an SD sponsor so they "promote" / advertise on here for free and they constantly get front page status. make sure you factor that into your decision.

i have personally seen a lot of amp failures with their previous models. time will tell if they have made improvements in that area.

2 years on the electronics and 5 years on the driver

while the spec says 18Hz that is very misleading because there is no +/- range. in real world usage expect down to about 25Hz (+/- 3dB - typical range for "flat" response). the difference between 18 and 25Hz is significant.

RSL subs are a bit different. they use a compression guide tuning to reduce port noise and improve low end performance. their products can easily outperform subs with larger drivers.

they produce equipment in batches based on demand to keep costs down (no expensive inventory to house). from time to time they will be on backorder but usually within a month they are back in stock. keep an eye out as they also run group buy programs so you can save even more.

bang for the buck RSL subs are hard to beat.

I have and very much enjoy this sub but just fyi my amp died like people are saying. Replacement was insanely easy (they send you a new board) but 2 years on warranty for the amp is risky. Great price tho.

if you read the post that graph came from the person modified their unit. also no testing conditions / parameters listed.
You were the one who brought up "real world usage" not anechoic measurements. There's plenty of CEA /CTA measurements available for the R-115sw showing you can get this sub down to 20hz unless you think the VTF-2 MK5 only extends well to 25hz too.

the R-115sw is a different model than the one posted here. i did not mention the HSU sub at all in my posts.

it is always most helpful to compare test results across models when used with same testing parameters. as noted the person who posted it had modified their unit. i have not seen any professional bench testing on this model.

The SPL-150 is a cosmetic upgrade on the R-115sw with an amp that was supposed to be more reliable. I brought up the HSU because they measure similarly and no one is saying that it only extends to 25Hz in a room with walls.

Here are more professional measurements that again show "real world" extension well below 25hz: https://www.whathifi.com/reviews/klipsch-spl-150

Pretty similar specs to Rp-1400, this sub is cheaper, but they are known for the amps to go out on them on occasion where i guess they fixed the amps on the new line
The rp-1400 outperforms the SPL-150 by a fair margin below 50hz from what I have seen. Stands to reason as it has a 20% larger cabinet and 25% more power.

Real world measurements show pretty decent response well below 25Hz:

This is the only brand / series of subwoofer advertised on this site. Rarely I will see svs or other brands. Are there not many good subwoofer brands for the price?

Used to see Polk and SVS deals all the time. I think there are less SVS deals just because SVS stop doing "real" deals.

as indicated in that article it is flat (+/-3dB) from 23Hz to 90Hz.. a bit off from the published spec of 18Hz which shows about -15dB as the response drops off quickly below 23Hz.

As indicated in the article, those are estimated anechoic chamber measurements. You started by referencing "real world" extension. Most people listen to these subs in home theaters with walls, not in the middle of an open field.

Are you just going to pretend ignore the 3 meter room response measurements?
"The maximum setting shows a frequency response of 16Hz to 180Hz±3dB, but at the expense of a bit of a peak in the response centred at around 90–100Hz."

To previous poster: You can't fairly compare subs using in-room measurement, as every room is different.

Who is comparing subs using in-room measurements? No one.

You've clearly missed my entire point, so I'll try to state it as simply as possible: anechoic measurements are not indicative of typical "real world" extension because rooms have walls.

Would this be overkill for a 14*14*8 room ? I already have the SVS 1000 sb pro.

Crazy deal. $100 cheaper than last time. I have one, it's huge and sounds great. I'm grabbing another.
I have the previous generation with the wa2 wireless kit that I bought for $399 from Frys years ago. They are still running strong. Accounting for inflation this is a good deal.

Thinking about buying 2 of these to replace my SPL-120's. Anyone have thoughts of 12" vs. 15" ?

*edit*
screw it, bought 2, I'll figure out the rest later lol.

*edit2*
debating canceling and switching to the RP-1400SW for $700/each
