Curious to know how many accounts on this site are fake just to generate hype..

that is because adorama is an SD sponsor so they "promote" / advertise on here for free and they constantly get front page status. make sure you factor that into your decision.

i have personally seen a lot of amp failures with their previous models. time will tell if they have made improvements in that area.

2 years on the electronics and 5 years on the driver

while the spec says 18Hz that is very misleading because there is no +/- range. in real world usage expect down to about 25Hz (+/- 3dB - typical range for "flat" response). the difference between 18 and 25Hz is significant.

RSL subs are a bit different. they use a compression guide tuning to reduce port noise and improve low end performance. their products can easily outperform subs with larger drivers.

they produce equipment in batches based on demand to keep costs down (no expensive inventory to house). from time to time they will be on backorder but usually within a month they are back in stock. keep an eye out as they also run group buy programs so you can save even more.

bang for the buck RSL subs are hard to beat.

I have and very much enjoy this sub but just fyi my amp died like people are saying. Replacement was insanely easy (they send you a new board) but 2 years on warranty for the amp is risky. Great price tho.

Are these $1400 subs for $450? Or are these $550 subs (typically) for $450?

I have two Monolith 12" THX V2 subs already (got for ~$600 or $700) ... but these 15s seem tempting unless they're abysmal compared to the Monoliths. Small man cave room (about 25' x 16', IIRC) and mostly for movies.

These are the outgoing models that were typically $600-900 ($1400 MSRP) for $450.

Absolutely not worth switching in your situation.

I also didn't realize the updated RP-1400SW is down to $700. Highly debating canceling the SPL-150's for the RP-1400SW looks like they worked a lot on the chuffing [youtube.com] issue with ported subs. I've experienced this a few times on one of my SPL-120's and was really concerned as well.

https://slickdeals.net/f/17073199-14-klipsch-reference-premiere-rp-1400sw-subwoofer-699-free-shipping

SPL-150's for $450 or RP-1400SW for $700?

Orders on Adorama aren't shipping until Friday.
Definitely 1400SW if you can spend a little more. Better sub in every way and 5 year amp warranty.

The next step up for you would be dual RP-1400's (an $1100 sub being sold for $699 lately)

As someone who has had this sub and currently owns the rp-1400sw... if you can save a little more cash and wait for the $699 sale for the rp-1400sw... its definitely worth the upgrade over this one.

My wife enjoys the theater experience as much as I do.

Trust the pimple faced kid making min wage living in his mom's basement for audio advice. Lol

It's not that they aren't high quality. It's a diff market.
Why do you Think SVS has a constant and consistent flow of open box items? Same reason why every Best Buy is riddled with open box Samsung TV's.
People think they want them until they have themWink
I get it. You are from staff still trying to vouch for advertised product here rather than comparing these subs. SVS is best in market, ask audio experts, not SD staff!

Also check its dimension. Its huge in size if you are thinking about having it in 20X20 room.

I think he was just making a point that it's unlikely audio experts are working at bestbuy and the advice you're getting from them is probably questionable. The Klipsch rp-1400 will run circles around the SVS pb-1000 pro in roughly the same price range.

Not staff, just a realist.
The reality is that sound quality is a perception of what one thinks sounds good. Svs isn't worth all the hype it's given. What you don't realize is that they buy the hype. They give everyone and their mother free stuff to give great reviews.

EDIT: I guess people don't like the truth. Show me a single review video from an owner that has bought it with their own money and has kept it past 30 days.
When you look at that data, there really is not any reviews on SVS. Again, there is a constant and consistent flow of open box stuff. These tales all tell a bigger story.

Been noticing a lot of (adjective)(noun)(four-digit number) usernames in the comments lately. Just sayin'.
