Curious to know how many accounts on this site are fake just to generate hype..

that is because adorama is an SD sponsor so they "promote" / advertise on here for free and they constantly get front page status. make sure you factor that into your decision.

i have personally seen a lot of amp failures with their previous models. time will tell if they have made improvements in that area.

2 years on the electronics and 5 years on the driver

while the spec says 18Hz that is very misleading because there is no +/- range. in real world usage expect down to about 25Hz (+/- 3dB - typical range for "flat" response). the difference between 18 and 25Hz is significant.

RSL subs are a bit different. they use a compression guide tuning to reduce port noise and improve low end performance. their products can easily outperform subs with larger drivers.

they produce equipment in batches based on demand to keep costs down (no expensive inventory to house). from time to time they will be on backorder but usually within a month they are back in stock. keep an eye out as they also run group buy programs so you can save even more.

bang for the buck RSL subs are hard to beat.

I have and very much enjoy this sub but just fyi my amp died like people are saying. Replacement was insanely easy (they send you a new board) but 2 years on warranty for the amp is risky. Great price tho.

I love my 15" Klipsch SPL-150 800W Subwoofer, and only $449 from Adorama with free shipping. What a deal, thank you Original Poster
You've also posted on the 14 and 16" threads implying you own those as well... how many subs do you have? (I'm not doubting you, just don't understand why people want multiple enormous heavy boxes)

Do not do that. Unless you can put a bandpass filter on the smaller sub you will wreck your low end. Subs have to be Exactly the same, Woofers and enclosures. Otherwise their differences will cause peaks At certain frequencies and cancellations at others.
This doesn't make sense at all. My receiver has two LFE outs, and settings for each different sub. And each sub has its own crossover and settings. Why would they have to be exactly the same?

I can't speak for that person, but I have four. One of which isn't actually in use and sitting in the garage currently (the sub for my Z5500s).

There is going to be a big difference between the SPL-150 and the RP-1400 for movies because the RP-1400 has more output and carries its power below 20hz.
I have my doubts. I've had the big boy subwoofers. I can't say any of them have caused me to see any big difference in output.
Then again I was even underwhelmed with 2x UM-18's in 10ft3 ported boxes powered with a Nike 6kdsp tuned.

I've had svs, I've had monolith, I've had Klipsch, I've had diy. The laymen knows no difference in sound other than if the output is tremendously different. (Ie: going from a 100w 8" sub to a 1000w 15" sub, the. Obviously it's not a fair fight.

How does this compare to the previous RP-1400SW 14" deal for $699?
Listening to the rp14 as I type this. On 7 it will freaking rattle dishes in the cabinets and can be heard outside. It is big but it's got some bonkers output.

That was a joke response about the obvious bots. I have one RP-1400 and am going to buy a second next year once my living arrangement changes. I currently have a large living room (19' × 24') and its been difficult trying to tune my setup with just one sub -- the middle of the room is dead quiet with no bass, and the opposite corner slams like heck with pressurization of that section of the room at Gain 6; the 14" version hits very hard between 20-30hz (harder than the 16"). I setup a small desk in that corner for music listening ^-^

These larger reference subwoofers are genuinely exciting. They're probably the best speakers (not just subwoofers) Klipsch has ever produced, and they're very competitively priced right now.

You can always look at people's post history and decide for yourself.

I have the RP-1600SW and I'm seriously thinking about grabbing this to pair with it. Like others have said, there's seriously nothing close to it at this price.
I've had one of these 15's for about 7 years. I did have to replace the amp about 2 years ago after failure. Since then, it's in my basement and sees a LOT less use. I bought the 1600 SW to pair with it and they complement each other wonderfully! It's a large open finished basement, so adding the second sub really added a lot of needed bass

Do you hear a lot of difference between the 15 and 16" model?

Thank You.

Can I use this with Samsung soundbar? The sub that comes with it is wireless.
No, you will need an audio AVR to connect this. this is mainly for complete home theater setup, not basic sound bar setups.

This requires and audio AVR to work, this is meant to be part of a whole home theater/surround sound setup and not a basic sound bar setup.

You don't think the SPL-150 would do the same?

It's not going to be a lot of difference. It may measure a db difference here and there, but it's not going to be any kind of knock your socks off difference and certainly not something a normal human being is going to pick up.
There is a lot of placebo affect that goes on with stuff like this.
It's like cars. People swear they gain like 50hp with an intake or muffler swap, and sometimes they lose HP, but think they gained because the car is louder.

The 15" SPL-150 is comparable to the new 12" RP-1200. Check the graphs here.

So 3-5ish db under 20hz from what I can gather of a low resolution image on my phone.
Again, groundbreaking? People were just as hype on the SPL-150 a couple years ago.
There is always something better for just a couple hundred more at every level.

Right now I have an SVS PB2000 at the rear of my finished basement, and the RP-1600SW at the front. The amount of bass is pretty freakin' daunting.
