Yes, I called them and was told they need to verify the transaction and asked me what is the purpose of transfer. I refused to tell them since it's none of their business. This happened every single time when the transaction is over 5k. I never had this issue with other banks, BoA, Barclays, Citi etc.
We (me and wife) did this offer Jan 2023 and track the progress oin the app , make sure all required qualification is completed and got payout as expected.
I have done Chase bonus a few times over the years and NEVER got any headache

They are saying I never clicked the link in the original offer email I received from them for the $900. I have the original email with my personalized offer code. They said they can see I made all the right deposits but the link wasn't clicked so they can't honor it.
So, the $900 is a nice little incentive and, IMO, the 90-day (vs. 1 yr) non-liquidity is reasonable. Unfortunately for me, the annoyance of the direct-deposit requirement makes the deal a no-go.
For me doing any deals I do try to attended to all the detail and make sure the code is applied ( give them a call/secure message) to ensure I am on the right track.. took a few minutes but that avoid any headache
I have an existing checking out with them for many years but I closed my savings account with them over 10 years ago.

Funding them was easy enough and the checking bonus was deposited basically on the same day I hit the time requirement. However, for the savings bonus they slow rolled depositing the $600. I hit the maturity date and it showed pending, processing, etc. for a few weeks before it eventually deposited. That was really frustrating, it's clearly deliberate to keep your money at least an extra 14 days beyond the 90 day requirement. Maybe I could have pulled it out while processing, but I didn't want to risk losing out on the payment.
Another extremely frustrating thing about Chase is you cannot assign beneficiaries to your accounts online. The only way to do it is to go to a local Chase branch and work with someone there to set them up. I don't know about you, but for me $15,000 is quite a chunk and if I get hit by a bus tomorrow I want to make sure that money goes back to my family without any hassle. Chase is the only financial institution I've dealt with that doesn't support setting them up online. $900 is nice, but Chase is such a hassle to deal with.
