The 2022 S95B was first gen QD-OLED & had a super thin panel that bent very easily. Therefore I would never recommend buying that version used.

This is a 2023 model & they supposedly reinforced the panel, but take a look at how thin it still is. You're really rolling the dice when buying one of these used.

This was $1800 new the majority of the time. You could save $400 buying a "excellent" open box. Probably only worth it if it is super easy for you to transport the TV & if you have no problem packing it back up & returning it if something is wrong with it.

When new price for this set dropped to $1800, I jumped on the deal. I've been extremely happy with the PQ. The colors are more vibrant as compared to the LG B and C series sets. I own an LG which is great but QD-Oled is the current king of display technology.

A Best Buy near me has a Good condition open box 77" S90C for $1481.99. Worth it to upgrade from a 65" LG C9?

The only option in my area, Phoenix AZ, is fair condition.

Inspect it first. I would jump on it if it was Open Box Excellent.

The upgrade to 77 is worth it alone, quite the upgrade from 65, and qd-oled seals the deal.

I'd recommend check it at store or call it before shipping. I tried to buy a Sony oled open box excellent a few days ago, went to the store, stuff told me it's an on display model for almost two years lol. Apparently it's website categorized display model same as open box. And I did see lots on display model at clearance.
I did purchase another Sony oled few months ago and that was a customer returned and had no issues.
So better check it out first to avoid the hassle for this kind of big box.

Just as a yardstick, Costco has the S90C for $1899 with 5 years of coverage: Last time I looked around, coverage cost a pretty penny - just checked Best Buy and it looks like 5 year coverage would cost another $454

Have just gone through years of hell with a poorly designed Sony TV (yup - x930D - always thought Sony were the best until then), am sorely tempted but I worry about the burn in - kids leave the TV on etc. So I wouldn't buy an OLED without some kind of coverage. Am thinking though that maybe mini-LEDs are the best way forward, especially for bright rooms?

Got my 77 S90C open box for around the same price in past. This price, no-brainer. Best value OLED on market, esp at 77in. Gen 2 QD-OLED also found on S90D.

Went to store to purchase an open box fair - apparently it was a display unit and did not include the stand or remote.
Ask for more off and buy the remote for $15 on eBay.

I sure wouldn't give kids an OLED to abuse, and yes the LED's are still best for bright rooms.

I've been super happy with my Sony a80j77, but every manufacturer has had bad models now and then. some more often than others.

My tv before the Sony was an LG 4k LED and what a waste of money that was, even while other models like their OLEDS are really good.

I can get it for 1650 shipped, excellent open box for 1401 👍
Availability of "new" for shipping or pickup must be location specific. I see "sold out" for new.

If you can buy this "new" at this price, it's probably a no brainer
