The 2022 S95B was first gen QD-OLED & had a super thin panel that bent very easily. Therefore I would never recommend buying that version used.

This is a 2023 model & they supposedly reinforced the panel, but take a look at how thin it still is. You're really rolling the dice when buying one of these used.

This was $1800 new the majority of the time. You could save $400 buying a "excellent" open box. Probably only worth it if it is super easy for you to transport the TV & if you have no problem packing it back up & returning it if something is wrong with it.

When new price for this set dropped to $1800, I jumped on the deal. I've been extremely happy with the PQ. The colors are more vibrant as compared to the LG B and C series sets. I own an LG which is great but QD-Oled is the current king of display technology.

I bought it new for $1650 even though I buy most things from Best Buy open box. Reason being, I have had some good and bad experiences with OLED open box tvs that have burn in from being floor displays, also often there are things like the box, remote and stands missing. You can always return it or try to have them turn it on in store, just personally not worth the hassle or risk of them selling out of the new in box model since they are running low on supply.

Just my two cents!

Samsung OLED's also have a lot of QC issues. I wouldn't touch Samsung OLED's at all.

So I noticed that BB has jacked the price up on fair open box unit at the same store by $400 last night and another $300 tonight (total price $700 increase on the same tv, same condition, and same location). Is this normal?

With a new tv I get it due to sales, specials, etc, but this is a fair condition open box unit. Seems very shady. Sucks because I was going to buy it at the OG discounted price.

There are work arounds to get it on Samsung. Use hdfury arcana and it works flawlessly
Do you need to change any settings or is the hdfury arcana plug and play for DV. ( I have Apple TV 4k

I guess a lot of them have QC issues then. In most HT forums Samsung seems to come up quite often on such issues. Of course it's a luck of draw and a little anecdotal but if you have un-proportionately high number of issues you see coming up, it's best to be warned.

Actually, most companies use LG's OLED screens.

When it comes to OLED TVs, LG is a top player. They've been an industry leader in OLED technology for years and even supply OLED panels to other TV manufacturers like Vizio, Sony, and Panasonic

All these open box sales at Best Buy are the floor models. They don't label them as such, and it's very misleading that only the store you purchase it from can address issues (missing stand/parts, etc.). Be prepared to return it yourself if needed (a massive pain for giant tvs) because stores can't be reached by phone anymore (outsourced call centers only).

I'm sitting on my hands. This is just the beginning of the tv deals this summer ⛱️ in my opinion.

Remember when this was a bargain at $3500 18 months ago 😃

It's a good tv for a good price so I'm not bashing it, but samsung is not known for the best implementation and calibration and processing no matter who made the panel.

A lot of people don't like Tizen, a lot of people don't like the lack of DV, there are things they do well and things they don't.

This same thing happed with LG oled panels, LG's implementation and calibration and processing wasn't as top tier as Sony's with the same LG panel, but LG did spend more time getting things right for gaming so each manufacturer has their strengths and weaknesses.

picked one of these up in Fair condition yesterday for the $1300 and added the 2 year BB coverage for $100. TV works perfectly just didn't come in a box. Had the remote and power cord only.

I had to select my local store specifically for the availability to show up.

Mainly selecting hdr to auto, lldv to hdr to on and scaling to be 4k 60 442 10 bit. Other than that, i am using s90c calibration settings on avs forum found in settings thread or reddit by user L337Fool.
