I prefer the first... Quite a bit in fact. I'm not mad that I got this, just wish I'd gotten it on sale instead of day one. You can use Dondoku (sp?) Island to farm up money pretty early on, but the whole thing is a slog.

PS4 offers free upgrade to the PS5 version so worth saving the $5.
You will need to use the disc every time.

Great price and lowest yet for this masterpiece! A no-brainer at this price. May go cheaper but its a damn fine game regardless of price. Theres a ton of game here! Can feel like 2 separate games with as fleshed out as Dondoko Island is. Not to mention there are essentially 2 fleshed out campaigns in the main game. I know it caught some flack for having NG+ behind a paywall, but I honestly havent even thought about NG+ after about 100+ hours in. My GOtY by a solid margin. There is a lot here for series vets, but I dont think a Yakuza newbie would find it hard to understand the story, and it is a crazy story!

Bottom line is its a masterpiece game at a great price. Its perfect for newbies and series vets alike. BUY IT. Even if you wait for the price to drop further, I highly recommend this game to any and everybody!

Sounds like a game with a lot of great content, but very long and a slog. I hate having to slog through games, I wish they just kept only the meat in.

The main game is great. The Island part sucks. I'm also not a fan of some of the "classes". I HIGHLY recommend the first one though. Ichi is such a great character, and the game has some serious plot twists.

I've played Yakuza 0 and 6, loved them both. No sure I'd like the turn-based style but it seems a lot do, maybe I'll give it a shot once it's on PS Plus Extra.

Yup, the turn-based is different for sure. You can always play the Judgement games if you want old-school Yakuza fighting. They're very good and carry the torch well.
