Heads up, there is no physical download code and the game is added to the Nintendo account which signs into the Nintendo store on the device first. This makes it difficult, if nearly impossible, to resell the game code to someone else. I gifted this console to a family member who already owned Animal Crossing, and she had a friend set up their Nintendo account on the switch first to redeem the free game, then she deleted the account from the switch and set up her own.

No you don't. I work at whole foods market and the best part for me about this job is when I'm unloading dairy inside a commercial refrigerator
Sounds a bit naughty.

Great price, but when stick drift eventually sets in your SOL
I thought Nintendo was repairing for free the stick drift even for the Switch Lite.

Yes. He meant SOL as you can't play the switch until you get it back from Nintendo for who know when. Personally, not a big deal. FOMO is a thing which is blatantly stupid.

The Ambernic RG405V is the one to get then. I prefer the vertical og gameboy form factor.

I've just played GBA and SNES games on it so far, but the larger screen makes it really nice for longer sessions. The larger body also makes it comfortable for adult sized hands.

It runs on Android, so you can put GammaOS onto it, and it can handle the less resource heavy GameCube and PS2 games.
I don't think any of them will run the Rogue Leader and Rebel Strike games though. Those two, Wind Waker, and maybe Resident Evil 1. For PS2, id like to play Battlefront 1, and the Lord of the rings games..that's about it. I was never much into Sonys IPs back then. I still only care for Uncharted, Spiderman, and the Last of Us.

This right here folks -- unless you own the physical CD/Cartridge/Cassette, you don't "own" anything other than a weak-willed promise that "maybe" you "might" be able to rent the game for an extended period of time.
Im not suggesting one should sail the seas, but the game will be somewhere forever. There's an entire community dedicated to game preservation.
I'd be more concerned with having my switch repaired than being able to play a game.

But that's what you're literally suggesting. If the Nintendo shuts down their Mario servers, then there's no legitimate way to kick turtles anymore. That doesn't leave any alternatives. So stop dancing around the issues -- it's EXACTLY what you're suggesting.

What's the downside of download only?
It completely depends on your use case:

In my case, if you have multiple people in your household you cant share a download only game to other systems, or resell it. On the other hand, if you have a download title, you can play it without carrying a game cart on your personal system. So if I know I like a game, or its cheap Ill get downloads, if I am unsure of how I feel about the game or want to share it I will get it on a cart.

No legitimate way to pay nintendo for access to turtle kicking. Games are ultimately just lines of code and there is plenty you can do with that, with various shades of legitimacy. Joining the Navy is not the only alternative, it's just what most people do.

My kids each have one and have used their lites for 3 years now on a daily basis playing games from Mario kart to animal crossing to smash bros. Neither has drift. That is a previously known issue for joycons, nothing relevant to this deal or discussion.

Thanks, OP! I've been on the fence for a while about getting one of these for my daughter, plus deciding to get the Lite/Regular versions, and this deal with the game included made it a no brainer.

I'm fed up with iPad games where she has to watch a bazillion ads to keep playing. There are barely any games you just buy once and play forever, anymore.

I would recommend this case. My elementary aged kids have had switch lites for three years and the switches still look practically new. My kids have the clear ones which don't seem in stock any more but this is the same and matches perfectly with this version of the switch!!

Not that hard to replace the sticks
Replace it with hall effects while you're at it for less than $20
