Tempted but really don't want to go back to having to use lightning cables again. USB-C version should be coming later this year (though rumored not to have any significant upgrades over this version)

Aren't these over 3 and a half years old at this point? Apple should have released an updated model by now.

Nice. You still get 10% back in total with any Amazon credit card. That takes care of tax and gets you an extra few percent off. Decided to add AppleCare Plus since I read they basically give you a new pair if anything goes wrong in the 2 year period.

Edit: 10% off looks like it's gone it was a limited time offer

I got these through my work a couple years ago and they drive me crazy. They're nice looking and comfortable, but they have so many connection issues and I'm constantly having to reset and re-pair them. They also occasionally won't charge while in the case and have to be reset.

I didn't see the 10% back using Amazon CC. Is it dead now? When I searched "prime bonus", only certain Airpods (1st & 2nd gen) qualify.

Assuming they meant Apple just giving you a new pair if you have any issues and Apple Care.

I'm pretty invested in Apple I have phone watch and MacBook but I can't imagine buying these for this price over something like Beats. USB-C charging, the bass is amazing, and they fold…I would've assumed these folded until another commenter pointed that out. May not sound like a big deal but if you use them anywhere away from home that would really suck

Are you not seeing it on the bare listing with no AppleCare+? It was showing there when I checked out this morning even though under the upgrade it didn't. Says in the checkout screen 5% and 5% additional and in my order details after I purchased.

Thing is, these are still the benchmark for ANC headphones (I'm not referring to "audiophile" gazillion dollar headphones - you folks are irredeemable, you know who you are). Literally ever review I've seen of Sony XM5s, Bose Ultras and Sonos Aces seem to compare against Airpods Max and rank those as the upper end for sound and ANC (and transparency).

Basically, why is Apple compelled to introduce any "update" to the market when they're already, comfortably, rated among the best in class?

IMO these are awful on account of the worst comfort ever, but if they were bearable, I'd have jumped years ago. Solid price - brings them in the same broad price range as Sonos and even Sony XM5...

Thank you. This comment was just what I needed to get me off of the fence from making a purchase that I really don't need. I'm finally all USB-C with all of my Tech Products (including my iPhone) and I'm happy to have lightning out of my life (lol)

Does the spatial audio feature work on Apple TV 4K? If it does, does it only work for movies from Apple steaming itself, or any app, like HBO Max, etc?

I've heard from reviews the beats studio pro (also owned by Apple) are basically the same audio quality but $100 less and some nice additional features. Can anyone speak to why the APM are worth the extra money?

these are heavy, not that comfortable, and sound is ok, but connection to apple devices is seamless--literally can pick up devices while walking around the apt and transfer connection.

on windows its not quite as clean, but i can still take them off, put them back on and it reconnects cleanly--which is not to say its better than other headphones but saying that it still works decently with windows.

but yeah, not that comfortable, I can only wear them for short periods at a time before my ears hurt or they get heavy

Yeah. This price feels appropriate for the age. Sonos Ace is coming out ahead on the AppleInsider side by side. If I was gonna spend $400 on headphones I'd probably pick the Sonos (better sound, noise cancelling, mics, comfort)
