Currently with the price of propane per gallon, it's slightly more expensive ($3.09/gallon vs $2.72 for 87 gas where I'm at) to run, and it's also not as efficient as gasoline, but the cleanliness and not having to drain or clean the engine to prevent gumming up the carb works for me.
Our area still hasn't gotten power restored from Hurricane Beryl, and I got this same generator running currently for 2 days now, purely propane. I have a fridge, a 5-cuft freezer, aquarium pump/filter, modem, couple chargers, couple led light stands, and one 20lb propane tank will last about 13 hours. Add in a portable A/C unit and a full tank will last 10.5-11 hours. I experienced this same consistent consumption rate when the power was out during the recent Derecho, for almost a week.
Nonetheless, this generator is a workhorse, running consistently, day after day, without a problem.
Somebody else mentioned they heard starting this generator on propane was problematic, not at all! Flick the lever over to "choke", pull about 3 times, flick over to "open" and starts right up. Even when the tank runs out and the gen dies...swapping to a new tank, switch lever positions and pull about 3 times, then open and always starts on the 4th...sometimes 5th pull. Less than 2 minutes swapping out tanks and starting again. Simple. I definitely recommend this generator/size for the amount of appliances/applications I need powered... I had a bigger 9k generator with the same appliances/applications and got much less time (~7hrs) per propane tank.
With any generator, make sure you check the oil level every couple days of constant use, and change the oil as recommended. Hope this real world use helps someone thinking about this particular generator.
Good deal for a good generator. No CO alarm, which is nice NOT having that. Soon, I believe, all new generators will have a CO alarm.

Only negative with this generator is that it doesn't come with a wheel kit. It's 79lbs as-is. A wheel kit can be purchased separately.

This seems like a bargain for a dual inverter generator. Probably much nicer and more reliable than the refurbished firmans. But not that much more money...

Seems like a great deal. I want propane inverter gen. Anything I am missing here?

Don't plan to run it much unless emergency.

I read that it's a pain to get started on propane.
Apparently it takes a lot of pulls to prime.

I think I'll hold out for an electric start.

How much cheaper is it to run on propane instead of gas? I do see the appeal of the stability of long term storage.

Will this run on natural gas.
I this natural gas or propane is the way to go as it will not gum up the carburetor or fuel lines..... What am I missing?

Not sure how easy it is to hook up to natural gas, I am guessing it's not like hooking up to a propane tank.
Any suggestions?

You should be able to find conversion kits or trifuel carburator. There are some reddit threads on the topic and parts on amazon

Good deal, beware this is open frame so it will be louder than an enclosed inverter generator.

2 tanks per day make tri-fuel more attractive.

If anyone is looking to pick up the wheel kit, Amazon [amazon.com] currently has it on sale for $38.
