I'll give them a try. I was looking at Amazon for a cheap pair to wear fishing. I can just return to the next town over if they don't work out.

You can get a pair of mens chacos for under $50 with a good quality control.

Nothing will ever beat the Timberland Trailray/Trailway sport sandal. Most comfortable sports sandal sole there is, and I've been through many brands both cheap and expensive. They would last for several years, and also was the only pair I could run in without breaking my neck.
