Coming from a Steam Deck owner, Deck OS is makes things Simplistic and Awesome,

But now playing 10+ Hr's on an Ally, I can say that 120hz and 30-120hz VRR makes a WORLD of difference. (30hz is a software mod, stock is 48-120)

Its quite a bit more powerful also, but it seems like a lot of games are way more efficient on linux now thanks to Steam Deck.

If steamDeck 2.0 had a 1080p 120hz screen it would hands down be the best portible.
+1 on deck screen resolution. It is quite noticeable for it's size. Needs higher resolution for some games

The OB price dropped further, it's now $356 for fair and $385 for good. If you can find a fair one in good condition I think $356 is a good deal.

I bought this brand new for $420, inclusive of tax. This was a deal for Best Buy members where if you spend $500, you get $50. Amazon and Gameflip had offers on gift cards, especially Gameflip, which had a $150 gift card for $120. Best Buy also sent a promotional certificate for $10. I stacked gift cards and combined all offers to get this for $420.

I've been getting interested in getting a deck. At this point though the legion go is looking more and more like the winner for me. What's the benefit of the ally over a legion?
It is smaller and has better speakers and controls. The legion has a better screen. There is also a well known, acknowledged, and unresolved issue with the Ally frying SD cards. It's so common that many just upgrade the SSD and don't use SD. The form factor depends on the buyer…which is better for you.

I'm also a Steam Deck owner, and I'm really not into Deck OS. I really wish I could just run Windows.

Probably a big difference is I like to play games that aren't on Steam, and the whole Linux thing is just really fussy and awkward.

I like my deck and I wish that Deck OS had a version that ran on windows. It would be so good in building a console-like PC.
