Heck of a deal but personally, I'm waiting on the next gen of handhelds coming out early 2025. I feel like the handheld market will have matured a bit with the better hardware and additional experience.

At this point with games like FF16 running awfully on Steamdeck even on low quality, I'll wait until 2025 to upgrade.
FF16 has relatively high system requirements even by desktop standards, not sure how that is a knock against a handheld. Even a 2025 handheld isn't likely to reinvent the wheel enough to satisfy said requirements unless the game is heavily optimized. Some games aren't built around lower end systems. Heck Red Red Redemption 2 still cripples many computers and that is 6 years old (yet the Steam Deck can actually play it). The Ascent is another, a decade old too down shooter crashes many PCs.

Probably a person that bought a 4090 on credit. Some people are impossible to please. They want a desktop experience in their hands even though that's just not possible.

Then they'll cry about battery life, size, and weight on any of the handhelds that do try to pack in more performance. Like you said, impossible to please.

Either enjoy it for its good aspects or dump on its bads. Reflection for which viewpoint ppl choose to accept, those tendencies tend to be consistent on other venues or contexts. I appreciate this handheld, it brought out the geek in me.

Got this one earlier this year for $380 open box good. No issues (though I haven't tested the sd card slot). I have totaltech so get 2 years of warranty protection which would cover the sd card slot.

None for around $300 near me, so thank the lord, saved myself some money. I would have impulse bought one.

I've owned two of these. If you travel or like the idea of having a Gameboy, this is your ticket. Is it a desktop replacement? No that's a dumb question. This will let you play games at a decent clip but don't expect crazy performance.

Still dealing with a faulty Rog Ally from the last sale bought from Best Buy in Fair Condition, it has been impossible to just get it simply exchanged for another open box unit, thing was broken with both triggers and one joystick dead on boot, they didn't even bother testing unit before putting it back on the floor

Great, I got one last time. The last two units at my store looked perfect. I picked the one with the later serial in the hopes of no sd card issue, but it's under warranty and I'm modding a bigger SSD anyway.

To the folks comparing this device to high end dedicated desktop GPUs: bruh……..
