I don't see Steamdeck 2 coming next year and probably not 2026. They will likely be tracking whatever Xbox is doing with either a generational leap in integrated APU or some Arm-based with upgraded graphic solution.

I *think* it will be $450 for everyone on Friday but not 100% sure. Last week a few of the early access member deals went live for everyone on 10pm thursday pt time. It's currently $499.99 so you might buy it now at that price for store pickup and if it drops, just do an in-store price adjustment.


edit: I'm going to remove mention of that just in case it doesn't, but I'll try to ping you Thursday night.

Since they fully acknowledged the problem in April of 2024, its safe to assume any newer units have the soldering issue fixed. There has not been an official YES THEY ARE ALL FIXED announcement, but it seems really likely.
