I had to read the description on Amazon to figure out what the heck this is. It's basically a mounting stand for a 36 or 55 gallon drum. Not the most common thing.

I have no need for a barrel stove, but I'm up voting just because I'm glad this product exists. Restores my faith in humanity.

This also has the critical door and flue parts.

In the northeast US, you see people use barrel stoves for making maple syrup. I've seen a double stack where the bottom barrel is for the fire and the top is an oven/smoker. Always wanted to make one..

If you have a rustic cabin, barrel stoves really do kick a lot of heat quickly. They aren't the best for a long overnight burn, but they are perfect for the shoulder season.

My Uncle said they used the barrels agent orange came in to make grills back in Vietnam. This will make a great Xmas gift!

Wish I could add the photos of the ones Ive made with this kit. They look awesome and if you add a heat chamber to it, they really work well for a small shop in the winter

Do they seal well? I need a wood stove for my detached garage in the winter, but don't want the place to get too smokey or ashy. Thinking all these expensive new EPA stoves are overkill, never had them growing up.

Yes you can seal them. We had this sort of set up in our garage when I was a kid. We had two barrels stacked on top of each other. The second barrel helped to collect the hot air and decrease the creosote in the chimney.

I find it interesting that these are illegal in Seattle where open burn barrels warm our homeless neighbors every night, but it's illegal to put a door and flue on your barrel.

For all the city folk on here who are scratching their heads.
This kit is used with two 55 gallon metal barrels to create a woodstove. These stoves are used primarily to heat workshops and garages. This would never go in a house or even a cabin.
