Thank you, but you made a mistake. Lenovo PSREF [lenovo.com] (Part Number : 82QD00DHUS) says 8GB Soldered DDR4-3200 and one DDR4 SO-DIMM slot so memory IS UPGRADABLE.
I believe you have replied to a wrong post (which should be here)

I have a Target version. Solid laptop. The 12gen I3 is great. My version has a fingerprint scanner - meh. I was never a fan of touch screens on a laptop but if you like it it will be good. Mine has an on board SSD with an open M.2 slot. I am an Excel/Access user with no problems. At this price point it is a solid buy.

Added a 32gb 3200 RAM module and the system recognizes 40 gb total. Replaced the shorter 256gb NVME SSD with a full-length 1TB NVME SSD after cloning the whole drive.
It takes a T5 screwdriver to remove 6 long and 4 short screws. Had to use a plastic pry tool to unclip the bottom cover after T5 screws were removed.
The screen at full brightness looks the same as a 250-nit screen side by side, even though the spec says 300-nit.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank beavis123

I would gladly trade the touchscreen for a backlit keyboard at this price point…

Is that deal still available? Could you give a link. Does that support USBC charging?
Old deal. No longer available. No usb-c charging.

The only question left is: does it have an open M.2 socket? If not, you have to replace the current drive if you want to add storage.

What's your (and your wife's) review so far? Thx.
Wife wanted something with a touchscreen for work from home. Missed out on a local costco deal on a 17" HP with touchscreen and more memory and storage for $299 so we got this one. It is surprisingly good and fast. Screen is bright at 300 nits. Windows 11 Home is in S mode but switching it out of S mode was really easy so no problems there.
If it starts to slow down I will just plug in a memory stick in the extra slot. She will be using the cloud for storage so 256 is not an issue for her.
Again she will be using it mostly from home so battery life is not a problem but I did test how long a full charge lasts by playing leaving it while playing a youtube music video that was more than 3 hours long at about 80% brightness and 70% volume. It easily lasted the video with about 57% of battery life still left.
The only other downside is the barrel type charger so no USB C charging.

Not a tech person... so wondering, if I get deal on 512 or 1T SSD, and if plan to swap it with original 256... so can I move win 11 to new drive without any issue?

Recommendations on memory upgrade?
Any DDR4-3200 SODIMM (e.g. Crucial/Samsung/Hynix) will do the job perfectly. Indeed, it will have no problem working with a 16GB/32GB stick if needed.

If you need a 2-in-1 form factor 14" (if the hinges is being taken care with), yes. That also has backlit keyboard, but the 8GB memory is NOT upgradable.

There is only 1 M.2 slot (being occupied). The slot supports M.2 2280

You will need to clone the drive or do a clean installation.

Just picked one up tonight, $206, open box, ordered a stick of ram on Amazon. Seems plenty fast as is.

What does Intel UHD graphics mean? Is there a more specific model? How does the iGPU in this computer compare to to the Vega 8 Mobile iGPU?

If you order from Lenovo.com, you can add an ID.me discount (for those of you that qualify). Yes, the laptop is still picked up at a Best Buy location, but this is an additional discount that is not offered directly by BB to my knowledge.

How much is the discount? What is required to be qualified?

Can it be used with a second monitor either by the HDMI port or by the USB-C port?

Found a partial answer in the PDF:

Quote :
Monitor Support
Supports up to 2 independent displays (native display and 1 external monitor via HDMI®)
• HDMI® supports up to 4K@30Hz
