There are more tools than this. For example- https://www.homedepot.com/p/sets/.../331730058

Super flexible tool, when I used to make book safes by gluing the pages and cutting out the center, this tool was perfect. If you do dry wall, it can be used to cut out the spot for electrical sockets. It can cut tile, and there is a sandpaper attachment for use as a sander and this is just scratching the surface.

Oh man. You can do a lot with this. Actually one on the more useful tools I got in the "Greay Ryobi Buy of 2022".

- great when replacing floors
- use it to cut a box area behind your entertainment center, then thread in cords and cover with a metal plate door thing to hide them in the drywall
- great for cutting PVC
- I've fixed two door jam holes with it

It's good for cutting trimming things already installed and secure. It vibrates tremendously- so it's bad for cutting things not secure.

Also the included blade SUCKS. Get a Diablo replacement blade

Boo! I guess that's to be expected. Is yours the one with the rotating handle? If so, do you actually use the rotating handle feature?
I don't know how much it helps to rotate. I do rotate to do vertical trimming though.
The trimmer is more powerful than I expected. It can cut 1/2 in branches easily. It cuts better than the corded black and decker I had.

Can I use this to cut tree branches?
Only a really thin one. Well, maybe a thicker one, if you have enough time, but there are better tools, like the Ryobi 10" pole chainsaw.

Thank you! I'll be on the lookout for a sale and get that one with the rotating handle. I guess it's better to have it than not have it, although the ones that don't have it seem to be a little bit more powerful (and The whisperer series would I guess just be a bit quieter)

What are some use cases for this tool? Serious q
I've used mine to cut the rusted bolts on a toilet, for cutting nails on built-in shelving to remove a shelf, and cutting out a rotting window sill. They're often used for cutting baseboard trim while laying new flooring and for small sanding tasks. Mostly they're for plunge cuts with a thin blade.

I think they're one of those tools you aren't likely to use very often, but pay for themselves every time you do need them.

It seems active for me also. But has anyone found a bundle that is something other than the multitool or jigsaw? Really want to get into Ryobi 18V and this is a great deal but already have both of the two options as 12V/corded.

Did a search but only found the two.
Your best bet to get into Ryobi is to wait for a sale on the 4 (or 5?) piece brushless kit for $200.

I did this deal a couple of months ago at $99. At that time you could add an extra 4.0A battery as an option for the free tool.

If you can still do that, it is a smoking deal for qty 2 4A batteries, qty 1 2A battery, and 1 charger for $79.I have 20 yr old Ryobi stuff with a mix of new tools and everything works together.

I got in trouble with Home Depot when I did the hack

I am now on their block list to do any returns
How did you get on the block list? I Have returned more than 40 hack items. I just say I don't want it and print out my receipts.

No idea. Said I Hve too many returns. Which is not sure. I may have done the hack 2-3 times.

I think that's just for too many returns. Nothing specifically about hacking deals. Many stores track your returns habits over a certain period of time and they will ban you.

What are your thoughts on hacking the current bundle? So $40 for qty 1 2ah, qty 1 4ah, and qty 1 charger?

The hedge trimmer was part of last year's Ryobi days battery promo. I got it with the two pack of 4ah batteries and charger.

This year they cut the batteries to a 2ah and 4ah and less tool choices.
I don't think I will be doing any battery deals until they change the 2ah back to a 4ah. I have most of the tools I need and a 4ah and 2ah just don't entice me in to buy a repeat tool.
