A kickback to join a club, how CULT LIKE...
How can they tell if it's for renewal or new membership? Is it coded specifically?
I say that because ATT fiber deal was for new member but it worked just paying bills.
Mine is under "Groceries".
Wondering this. Would make this more convenient. I'm 14 months without a membership

Where I am, gas at Costco is $3.27; gas at Walmart is $3.46. They're never equal where I am.
The Groupon Costco Membership deals in the past defines new customers as actual new customers or returning customers who let the membership expired for more than 18 months.
But since this is a Chase offer, I don't think the 18-month rule applies and it should trigger the offer as long as there's a membership purchase on my card. Not sure if I'm understanding it correctly.
I had it on my Chase personal debit, Chase IHG, and Ink Business Cash cards but it was not on my other chase cards

When I have renewed my membership in the past, the merchant charge on my credit card says "Costco *annual Renewal" ....so they know.
The question is will it trigger the cash back anyway?
