The MC I bought a $50 and $25 SC online. The VS I just bought a $60 SC @ Costco at the CS desk.
The online purchase went through as 2 transactions, one $50 and one $25. I did that on the 13th and haven't gotten the credit.
The in-store one, however did have the credit applied 4 days later:

So I am thinking the reason the online one didn't trigger the credit was because they split it up. If you buy a $75 it will probably work.
