I called and they got me the deal but I think i no longer get free Amazon Prime as a long time Metro account holder. They messed with my account to make me eligible and in hindsight I'd rather get Amazon Prime for free than an unneeded tablet for $20.

You can adb and uninstall like 100 unnecessary sys apps and it will move much faster
I also bought the 4GB version from Metro during the last deal, and found it to be very laggy and stuttery. Bought it for my kid to play Minecraft on and watch YouTube, but surprisingly, even his 2021 Amazon Fire HD 10 plays Minecraft better in terms of stuttering. Also, the screen viewing angles aren't that great. My Lenovo P11 Pro Gen 2 with the 120Hz OLED display that was recently on sale for $208 is on a totally different level when it comes to display quality.
Of course, can't complain at this price, but you need to set your expectations at the right level when buying this.

update: i am chatting with metro representative. he told me that instead of price match, he get help me purchase another a9 at the promotion price. so i pay another $20 and get the 2nd a9 tablet which will bring the cost down to $25 per tablet. that is weird!
