ADB Appcontrol is probably the easiest solution for people unfamiliar with adb. It provides you with step by step instructions and a GUI, so you don't have to do everything by command line. https://adbappcontrol.com/en/

Just run the debloat wizard and it'll give you recommendations on what to disable.

Watch out on unintended consequences of this deal! I tried using the steps outlined and had to call to find out why I was ineligible.

I called and they got me the deal but I think i no longer get free Amazon Prime as a long time Metro account holder. They messed with my account to make me eligible and in hindsight I'd rather get Amazon Prime for free than an unneeded tablet for $20.

That's because Samsung software is filled with bloatware, telemetry, and redundant apps

You can adb and uninstall like 100 unnecessary sys apps and it will move much faster
What rom do you use?

I use these as my home assistant tablets.

Be warned, these are extremely laggy for some reason. Think galaxy s2 type of laggy. My old nexuAy!s 7 is more responsiAive.
Ay!!

Nexus 7 (2002) or Nexus 7 (2003)?

[Note: I still have both.]

I ordered plenty the last deal, and I just ordered one earlier this morning that successfully went through. I still had to do the "verify identity" questions, but I used the same credit card and address as last time.
Did you pay just first month and than cancel the service. After that just wait for 6 months to unlock?

NEVER go into a Metro store. They are all third party and will randomly add extra fees and charges.

Always buy direct from the website if you don't want to get ripped off.

Unfortunately phone is online however it cannot be purchased. I assume that is because only stores have remaining stock of this old phone.

Yes, just first month. It would have unlocked after 6 months, but I turned them all in. Now it's 365 days to unlock

just curious. is that plan still available ? I would be interested to take that plan
No, I dont think so. I have had this BYOD plan since 2015. A couple years ago I went in to a metro store to activate a new phone and they said I also had to update my plan because it was old and no longer being supported. Plus it was going to cost me 25.00 for activating the new phone. I said no thanks, went home and activated it myself. It might not be the greatest plan but for the price and my needs, it's good.

Fake deal.
Getting the not eligible for new line no matter what I do, different browsers, no adblocks, on phone no wifi etc.

I just donated $30 and way too much of my time to this garbage company

This is not the ideal USB C tablet I'm looking for... but maybe this could be used for a trade-in deal in the future with T-mobile? Probably only $200 credit towards a new phone, they've gotten pretty strict now with tiered trade-in values.

No one will give $200 trade in credit for this crap tablet. Not even Samsung...

Yeah I saw that and I will call in today to see if it works.
The metro webpage says "any" phone line so I shouldnt have to go through all this nonsense.
